JLF has pleaded guilty to orchestrating Jaime’s murder and will be sentenced on May 26 at 1:30pm. Since her case was a murder-for-hire, she is eligible for the death penalty. Prosecutors are recommending a sentence of life imprisonment, but sentencing will ultimately be at the discretion of the judge.

According to plea papers, she admitted that DRL gunned Jaime down. He has been charged by the state with murder and by federal authorities with a gun crime and has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Both before and after the murder, JLF sent him money, gifts, and credit cards which she paid off using the proceeds of a "Support Jennifer Faith" fundraiser launched in the wake of her husband's death.

One month after Jaime’s death, she filed a claim with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company seeking approximately $629,000 in death benefits he had through his employer.

Wonder if it's just weather related since they didn't specify future dates yet. Or maybe they are working on a plea deal since she did a plea deal.

I believe they are working a plea deal with Lopez. From past experiences - a Announcement hearing is usually a plea change.

How long until we know the results of the 9am "other" hearing?

I hate that they seem to always misspell his name. It's Jamie, not Jaime.

That is my fault - I have changed my notes... thank you!

Unless you can find an article - I think - would be the only way. Not much explanations in the Dallas County court sites - as you can see from my post (#450) above.

Any news on yesterday's hearing? Unfortunately I'm only getting old ones...

TIA! :)

Really don't know what "other" means as the hearing.

This is pure speculation, but as Lopez is a disabled veteran, I'm wondering if "other" relates to his mental health. Perhaps he's not fit to plead or needs some form of treatment before he's able to do so.

IMO, we would have heard if the defense was requesting a competency evaluation for Lopez because the slightest hint of the accused status and/or request for evaluation would halt all court proceedings until a determination made.
