Wow. I thought she just wandered out in her sleep? I was certain this would have a happy ending. I had no idea police were thinking she was kidnapped.

My prayers are with all those who loved her. :( Such a sad story.

I'm almost sure the POI was probably someone she knew or was related to.. but I could be wrong.

IMHO...
Someone in that family either is involved, or knows who did this. I had that bad feeling from the very start. The minute I saw that they had a tag number, it was a huge clue that LE had a pretty good idea that Jasmen didn't just wander away in the night. They knew who was involved right away for some reason. I wonder what evidence they have.....

This is just really upsetting. It's awful. That poor child.

Has it been reported in other sources the two vehicles were towed? This looks even worse, as far as the possibility of more than one person being involved.

It does look worse. I'm not sure I want to even know the details. It has the potential to be a very ugly story.

Sweet little girl. She did not deserve to die at only 10 years of age. Why can't adults just leave children alone?

No...how sad...she was only 10. :(

I was really surprised to see this thread title change so soon. :(

Rest In Peace Jasmen. :rose:

Condolences and blessings to her family and friends.

What are the odds that this young lady would go missing on the one night she is out of town visiting relatives with her family? I doubt a random stranger is responsible for this child's disappearance. It isn't as if some SO could have staked out the place and planned to snatch her in advance, given the fact that she didn't actually live there.

Whoever took her (I don't really buy the sleep-walking theory) knew exactly where she would be- and the place she was taken from was not her own residence, a place where she would regularly spend the night.

Not neccessarily. Pedophiles look for opportunities, they don't always plan these things nor do they always stalk one child in particular. I don't know if I believe the sleepwalking bit, either, but it's possible she just walked out of the house on her own. Kids are unpredictable and do stupid things. How many times has a child been snatched who just happened to be walking somewhere, unplanned? These sickos drive or walk around waiting for their chance, it doesn't have to be planned in advance.
Since a body has been found so soon after she went missing, the family should be able to identify her, if it is her.

It is interesting that police were stopping all vehicles who entered a two block area, and her body was found two blocks away. Sounds like LE had a pretty good idea of what happened from the beginning.

I think LE released the sleepwalking theory to the press because that's probably the story they got from the family when she was reported missing. I don't think they believed it at all.

Good job, Carrolton PD! I wish all police departments would act this quickly when children go missing!

Dang it. I saw this on the news Saturday morning and didn't see a thread for it but was on my way out the door. Did hear LE this morning saying it wasn't a random killing, that the neighborhood and town are safe. Such a shame. Why, why, why???

There was just a live presser - was hard to hear. But named a potential POI. Was at house earlier in the evening but they are still questioning others.

Cars, Residences Searched After Girl's Death
Family friend held by ICE during investigation into girl's death

.......A family friend, Jose Sifuentes, is being detained by ICE investigators and has been named the only person of interest in connection with the girl's death by the Carrollton Police Department.

Sifuentes' residence at 1610 E. Belt Line Road and his Lincoln Navigator were searched by authorities, police said Monday, but they wouldn't say what, if anything, was found. In addition to Sifuentes' Navigator, officers searched a white Ford F-150 pickup truck and a red Chevrolet van. They also executed a search warrant at the apartment where the girl went missing.

Investigators said Sifuentes, who is believed to have been born in 1988, attended a gathering Saturday held by Gonzalez's family...........

There is very little known at this time about this case. I am beyond words right now. Where is the mother and father of this little girl? This just looks so "dark" right now. I'm shocked.
