Yes, that's new.

It's also new -- minimal injury....

I'm with you. Stumped.

What happened to you, Jason?????

JMO
Definitely odd choice of words.
Without a witness and without a missing person how can that be determined?
Even had he left footprints they possibly could tell whether weight was equally balanced and gait regular but they will tell nothing about internal injuries that are not immediately capacitating...
Unless they're saying something new?
I don't think they would do it this way, or would they?
He walked away.
How far and then what happened?

Most contacts these days are disposable. Wear one day and throw away. They are packaged in 30 day quantities. I would think he would use this type as most of the young folks I know do. They are easier, more convenient. So he probably packed the amount he would need while home. MOO
I actually wear the daily disposables too...but sometimes I wear my glasses. If I’m going to be exercising, working out or doing something like cleaning the house, etc. I will wear my contacts. But if I’m just sitting around the house or driving I usually wear glasses.

Right...I don’t know how they can be sure only minimal injury and he walked away?

What does gaming gear weigh , approximately? I would have presumed it to be lightweight but I have no idea.

Totally depends. When I visit family, I take my entire Xbox system plus controllers, maybe the Oculus VR headset. If there was a console I could use, I would maybe just bring a controller and headset.

I am wondering about his scars. When and why did he have a lymph node removed? Was that surgery recent?
I don’t think it’s relevant to the case...but he may have had some shotty or enlarged lymph nodes in his neck that were biopsied for safe measure. Though even when I was seeing an oncologist for some low white blood cell count issues, he decided not to biopsy my shotty lymph nodes. So, I would think Jason was having some kind of symptoms for them to proceed with biopsy. But not necessarily.

Anyway, no way of knowing how long ago it was done. I doubt he was in ill health or parents would likely have mentioned it by now.

Could someone have been chasing him? Causing him to be driving too fast, ultimately losing control and crashing, only to betray to bolt on foot? Could he have been abducted by chasers?

Assuming he moved his clothes and such 900 feet, where did he go from there????? $64,000 question. And wherever he went, did he go there voluntarily or involuntarily, with possession of his faculties or in an injured state?

Law Enforcement is putting it out there that he wasn't seriously injured.....

Still, his head could've taken some knocking without evidence of injury...

I wondered this same thing. He could have been chased and that's why he was driving so fast and crashed his car. But the question is why was he being chased? Where are you Jason??

I'm curious as to who took the photo of JL? Said to be from the same weekend he went missing so obviously it wasn't his family. And to me, moo the dramatic change in his look from the original photo to the new one says there is something else going on with him. IMHO
He appears to be shirtless in the picture and it looks like a chat/snapchat pic. I going to say it is from a romantic interest he was chatting with

So... were their drugs in his backpack or not? Sorry if I missed the followup convo after his dad said Jason absolutely doesn't do drugs etc
I think the general consensus was he had a bag full of video game stuff. He was a good kid etc etc. Media outlets should really be held to a higher standard of reporting, it's irresponsible and unhelpful to be so overzealous in descriptions. "Filled with narcotics" gives us the image of "full of black tar heroin and paraphernalia" when in reality he probably just had some weed on him, if I had to guess. MOO.

NamUs has the poster, the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office has the additional information about the accident scene on their official Facebook page, see below.

I wonder if CCSO may have conflated some of the initial information when composing their FB post on Jan 8, 2021.

TX DPS was reported as the initial responders to the accident scene where they were responsible for the crash report. DPS reported JL's back pack was located on the road 100 feet south of the wrecked vehicle. Wasn't it reported that SAR dogs had tracked JS scent on the road but the dogs seemed to lose his scent about 900 feet from the wreckage (i.e., near the abandoned house)? I'll review the media thread...

I think the dogs lost the scent (not sure whose) about a quarter mile down the road.... a quarter of a mile is 1,320 feet.

As for the latest photo, I think he looks so different in all of the photos I've seen of him. In this latest photo though (looks like a selfie), he does have a goatee. I wonder if LE was able to access his phone / Cloud.
