SAVOY, Texas (KXII) - Police are asking for the public’s help locating a Savoy man missing for over three weeks.

Savoy Police say Jesse Hagood, 36, has not been seen or heard from since the early morning hours of August 3 when his vehicle was found crashed at County Roads 1220 and 1230 in Fannin County.

Police say they have already conducted thorough searches of the crash site area, and that it’s possible Hagood was disoriented from the crash and wondered into a remote area or picked up by a passing vehicle.

Hagood is described as white, 5′11,″ 150 pounds last known to have a short beard and wearing a blue Dallas Cowboys t-shirt and either blue jeans or tan work pants.

Anyone with any information on Hagood’s whereabouts is asked to call Savoy Police at 903-965-7706. Tips and information can also be emailed to [email protected].

He was involved in a high speed car chase back in March:

"A Moulton man is in Lawrence County Jail following a high-speed chase from the city into Hatton, according to the Moulton Police Department.

William “Jesse” Hagood, 36, was charged with reckless endangerment, attempting to elude police, reckless driving, speeding, driving while suspended, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, and operating a vehicle with a switched tag.

The 16-minute pursuit involved three other law enforcement agencies, including the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, the county’s Drug Task Force and Alabama State Troopers, and ended on County Road 154, a police report stated.

The pursuit began when Moulton Officer Tim Owens attempted to initiate a traffic stop, knowing Hagood had a suspended driver’s license and discovering the switched vehicle tag, the report said.

When Hagood refused to stop, a chase ensued through Moulton and “westbound onto several roads in the county, in the areas of Landersville and Hatton,” the police report said. “Moulton officers were able to ‘box’ the vehicle in and stop it on County Road 154.”

Following the chase, a female passenger identified as Hagood’s wife, Ailsa, was arrested for misdemeanor charges filed by the Moulton Police Department.

I guess it's possible this was a staged event to avoid possible jail or prison time. He has a lengthy record of felonies. Was there any images of the crash to judge the extent of injuries he may have received?

Remains found might be Jesse Hagood.

A Friday afternoon grass fire in Savoy near FM 1752 lead officials to human remains, believed to be of Jesse Hagood, who went missing on Aug. 3, 2021.

“During fire suppression efforts between county road 1220 and FM 1752 north of Savoy, a supervisor with the Texas A&M Forest Service discovered human skeletal remains,” Savoy Police said. “At this time the evidence indicates these are the remains of missing person Jesse Hagood.

Savoy Police said the final identification and confirmation will be determined by the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification.

No further information will be released until final analysis and confirmation is made by the UNTCHI.
