According to Sheriff Brian C. Hawthorne, John Stewart Beasley, 46, an active-duty Baytown police officer, has been missing since approximately 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, when he apparently walked away from his residence in the 1800 block of Parker Place Drive in the Plantation Subdivision in the Cove, Texas area.

Texas police launch search for missing police officer
Several law enforcement agencies have assisted Baytown police, including K-9 teams from League City and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, according to FOX26 Houston.
He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, khaki cargo pants and black hiking shoes. He has a teal blue tribal tattoo on his right shoulder.

There seems to be a lot of John Beasleys in Texas. I’m finding some social media info but nothing concrete enough to share.

Lots of water near his house, also easy access to I-10. I don’t like that he’s been missing this long already, hopefully he’s just blowing off some steam. May have found his Facebook page or his father’s page, I’m not sure. I’ll keep digging. Hopefully he caught a ride with a friend and he is still alive. LEO can have such high stress jobs.

Seems to go by Stewart (in article above) which is what I saw on the social media, he seems to have same name as his dad.

There seems to be a good sized patch of woods along that street, I’m assuming he lives on that side and not the thin tree line in the field. If they brought in K-9s I wonder how far they were able to follow him. To the water or to the street where a car could have picked him up.

so very sad for his family, for all those who knew and loved him... Sometimes, you just don't see the signs, and that is no one's fault. So much love right now to his community.

Well crap..I was hoping it wouldn’t end this way. How awful. RIP Stewart.

This happens with LEO way too often. I don’t know the stats offhand but the rate of suicide among LE is higher than that of the general population. JMO since I haven’t looked up a source.

His wife and children must be in agony. So sad.

I wonder what preceded his return home at noon or what followed his return home from around noon to 3. I know building a home can be stressful but...

Oh, no. His struggle is over.
Thoughts and prayers for his widow and children. Their struggle is just beginning. I hope the community dotes on his children often & for years to come. Suicide of a parent is a tough one to overcome.
