How do you shoot your self in the chest?

Nvm. It was a 9mm I was thinking shot gun.

“When paramedics arrive, at approximately 11:40 pm, they find 27-year-old Jonathan Crews in his bed, under the covers up to his waist, with a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest. He is dead, slumped to his left, with both arms extended. The bullet, from his own SIG Sauer 9 mm, went through his heart, lungs, and liver before exiting the right side of his back, into the bed. The gun sits next to him, on top of his blanket.”
From article above.

This seems to me he would have had to have shot himself in a downward trajectory. With his left hand. Seems awkward but possible.

I just seen this case on Still a Mystery: Killers Among Us? (S2E7) and I’m on the ‘she did it’ boat. The trajectory of the bullet was in direct line with her standing over him. Him being right handed would have made it pretty darn difficult to position the gun so that it would go through the mattress and hit the bed rail on the other side.

Her 911 call has her not knowing what his address is, saying that he didn’t mean to do it then said he did. She tells her boss he put the gun to his heart to prove his love for her even though he was texting his sister about what he should do about her jealousy issues.

I generally don’t base opinions on how people act in situations but during the deposition for her wrongful death suit she pleads the 5th? She was asked if she wanted to tell the family what really happened that night. That’s a pretty strange answer to the question if he really did kill himself.

Just saw this case on Dateline: I am livid- the police botched this case so badly it isn't even believable- Brenda got away with murder- so sad
