what made angela ask if her son was there to the caller? How did she know the call had anything to do with her son? was there a previous threat? ...wth...consider me completely confused at this point....

It seems that Jonathan was the caller.

More info about the phone call has come out
"I said, 'This is Angela. Is my son there?' And she said, 'Is your mama named Angela?' And he said yes and the phone went dead," she recalled.

Jonathan hasn't been seen since Friday afternoon. He was home playing video games when his stepfather says he stopped in, but Jonathan was gone just 25 minutes later when his mother came home from work.

"There's no doubt in my mind he's been snatched," said David Davis, Jonathan's stepfather.

Sgt. Brian Harris with the HPD Homicide Division said, "We believe foul play may be involved."

Houston police are treating the case as a possible kidnapping, also interviewing family members and trying to track down a mysterious phone call Jonathan's mother says she received at work shortly before her son went missing.

"I said, 'This is Angela. Is my son there?'

And she said, 'Is your mama named Angela?'

And he said yes and the phone went dead," she recalled.

Okay, so the missing boy's Mom asked if her son was there when she picked up the phone call at work.

The WOMAN (with a raspy voice perhaps???) on the other end asked the missing boy if his Mama was named Angela.

The missing boy said yes and the phone went dead.

Am I understanding that correctly, because it took me a few minutes... my head was spinning.

I'm guessing the police found his shoes on 43rd and shepard. If so that means the boy put up a fight and lost his shoes, also would lead police to believe he was kidnapped. He could be anywhere!

Or the video game....

how do you get that?

"I said, 'This is Angela. Is my son there?' And she said, 'Is your mama named Angela?' And he said yes and the phone went dead," she recalled.
BBM

sounds to me if someone else made the call and the child was standing near the caller and the caller asked the child "Is your mama named Angela"?

oh boy there is a B&W meat company very close to their apartment complex with two very large dumpsters different then most. One is orange and heavy duty with lid

When I saw the interview with his mom and they showed all those dumpsters my heart sank.

whoa too many stories..... now he was home alone and gone when mom came home? he had called his mom at work....stepfather popped in???.... sf = hinky in this story

What a mess of reporting...every single case, it seems to get worse and worse...:(

I'm afraid if LE heard right off that he had only lived with his mom and stepdad for a month, that would be even more reason why they might think "runaway", rather than less...if indeed they did.

But I feel this is not going to be a totally random stranger crime...

I really had to post this
His aunt tried to report him on Saturday night, he went missing Christmas eve in the afternoon. Pay real close attention to this new story, it has changed once again, now there's no babysitter, and if u were at work when he went missing and u didn't know he was missing then why when this mysterious call came in would u ask if ur sons there?

Why did he recently move to live with his mother and stepfather?? His aunt claims that he lived with her for the past 4 years in a different state.
I just get chills thinking about all of the cases we have seen of an absent parent suddenly gaining custody/visitation....and the child going missing due to the actions of the parent/parent's new partner. I wonder if Jonathan walked in on something his step father was doing. If he somehow annoyed or made him enraged to the point that he snapped. I wonder if step dad has a criminal history.

I don't think they "found" his shoes. The reporter in the video states the only things missing were a video game and one pair of shoes...which he was wearing when he went missing.

IMO, it sounds as if he still has / had them on and they haven't been found.

When I saw the interview with his mom and they showed all those dumpsters my heart sank.

I did a driveby down the street and around that meat place and there are at least 15 dumpsters. Those apartments had garbage on the street next to each dumpster. I did notice just about 98% of all the houses on that street had chain link fences around them. I was looking for any abandon houses. There was one really trashy creepy house down on that same street, someone was living in it but it did have boards on the window. Not sure how old google earth was. My guess a few years so that place could be totally abandoned now.

Also along that street are little pathways along fence line that has dense brush up against it.

Oh Ok, sorry me...my bad...I read it so wrong.

I am not clairvoyant but I would not be surprised if the mother had a substance abuse problem, maybe stepfather too. There is a reason she hasn't raised her son and that is usually the number one reason. Stepfather was the last to see child. Story has changed all over the place. Supposedly the police did nothing and it wasn't reported right away and not by the mother. I know exactly where this is going and I don't like it. Like someone said earlier, Ethan Stacy comes to mind.

New article:

http://www.ky3.com/news/ky3-child-who-once-lived-in-the-oz-122710,0,1572926.story

"Houston media report the family's last contact with the boy was around 2:00 pm on Christmas Eve when he called his mother at work and said it was an emergency. When she got to the phone he wasn't there."

Not only are the stories changing but they aren't even remotely close to each other as to explain the confusion. First he was at the baby sitters house. Then he was at his house. Then a person called the mother at work and the mother asked if her son was there. Now it is the son that called. I think this is about to break. The people can't even get their stories straight.
