Welding burns are very distinctive also. My ex-husband was a welder.

LOL, I'm sure you noticed tiny little holes in his shirt! Unless he worked at a plant that required protective coverings for the torso area, you had to throw away alot of shirts. I know that I have.........

Well, I surely hope that the death penalty is on the table for whoever murdered this little boy. If this crime doesn't deserve the death penalty, nothing does. IMO.

Yeah, I hope so too, but I thought the same thing about the Riley Ann Sawyer (Baby Grace) case and was sadly disappointed.

strach, ty for your post. Are burns routine when handling the torch sort of freestyle? Does he wear gloves and or goggles? Are there fumes from the chemicals that might be overwhelming?

He burnt his skin and clothes very often. The marks made on the skin are round and small but distinctive from other types of burns such as cigarettes. He wore a full shield which protects the head and face, specialty gloves, a leather apron, and work boots. No fumes that I am aware of. He never said that but he often got flash on his skin and his eyes. There was one occasion where he got flash in his eyes and couldn't see for about 12 hours. IIRC he had lifted the shield and exposed his face was how that happened. Not much smoke if any comes off of those. He did do big industrial jobs, mostly the shipyard and tunnels.

I've read or heard on oprah once that a young girl who was raped usually will either become promiscuous, avoid any sex at all for years and years, or become gay.

I myself went the 1st option, it was part of me mentally blaming myself and feeling cheap. I actually remember thinking when a boy hit on me (about 3 years after the rape) I would think in my head "You want to _____, I show you a _____. I mean I was out there! Never had any strange fantasies though.

IANAL, but it's my understanding that a capital murder charge in TX means if a defendant is found guilty of capital murder, DP or life sentence is decided during the penalty phase.

So essentially if a perp is charged w/ Cap.Murder, then it could be said the state is seeking the DP.

No, I believe the DA decides whether to seek a death penalty or not. If the defendent is found guilty of capital murder when no death penalty is sought, there will be no penalty phase, they automatically receive life in prison.

Capital murder is the potential punishment of death.

You would definitely smell burnt flesh. Hair is really bad and has a very distinctive odor but I've heard burnt flesh is really bad. Are you thinking what I have been wondering? Neighbors, etc, should have smelled that. Her sister was there on X_mas day I thought so you'd think the odor would still be there.

IIRC, someone said that the virus is actually attached to an ad on her page, so it's a hit or miss with the virus when you go to her page depending which ad is up at the time. does that make sense?

It's probably not a virus that's alerting but more likely a tracking cookie that, depending on the sensitivity or settings of the individual's anti-virus software, might alert as spyware or a trojan.

One of the best solutions for this is to download FireFox and the AdBlockPlus add on. It blocks almost all ads, banners, etc and any bad stuff associated with them.

And so I won't get on Tricia's bad side, I'll add this: most web sites, including this one, derive a good portion of their operating costs and revenue through ads. The use of software such as ABP at WS can potentially reduce the money that goes toward servers, web-hosting, technical support, etc that Tricia needs to continue to provide this service to you. ABP has settings so that you can turn it "off" on those websites that you want to support.

I am not looking for salacious information with my questions regarding the welding, guys-I like the angle that she might have burned herself, and I am not familiar with the equipment associated with being a welder.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the sleeves to protect their arms. The kind he had were leather/suede just like the apron and gloves.

Yup. Pants too. He worked in a shipyard and built a lot of tunnels, etc. I think it was really hard for him to wear all that hot and heavy leather in the summer so he often got burned.

Thanks for the links.

I too think (and hope) they will seek the death penalty in this case, but my question was have they announced that they will yet. It's not automatic.
