I wondered about that too. But LE entered her house 4 days after Jonathan was killed. His body was disposed of right away so there would be no smell of decomposition. With a lot of ventilation and Lysol could the burnt flesh odor be eliminated in 4 days? I'm thinking maybe it could.

I agree. I use Mr. Clean Lavender "flavor" to clean my kitchen. It gets rid of... most smells. I've never tried to conceal murder, but it does conceal most other smells that can linger in a kitchen.

I have unfortunately smelled a decomposing body.

I have also read that a burning body has such a stench that it is overwhelming.

I dont think anything could erase the smell of burnt flesh.

A special bio hazzard team would have to come in and rip the carpet completely up and take up the plywood floor and replace it imo.

IMO

signs you are addicted to websleuths:
you run out of sugar for your coffee and instead of going to the store, you open the cabinet and look for anything that will remotely make your coffee sweet. For future reference, brown sugar does the trick and is actually pretty good

LE stated in a MSM report that a portion of the rug that appeared to be burnt had the smell of human odor. (paraphrasing). However, they never stated that the house smelt that way; just that part of the rug.

I agree, especially when talking about carpet.

I have no idea, but you happen to have that link to video, I want to watch it again. I'm so bad at finding links.

Will go "in search of" and see if I can find a link to it.

for those of you with knowledge about welding......
what would happen if you tried to use the equipment(to burn anything for a period of time) in a small area, such as a living room or kitchen of an apartment? Would the place need to be ventilated? would carbon monoxide fill the room? Would any kind of soot gather on your windowpanes? What kind of destruction would it to a room, if any?

I don't think she would have needed to burn him that long working with a welding gun. Time wise that is. The sparks that fly are caused by the metal rods and she wouldn't have been using those. If she placed him on top of something on the carpet that could eliminate burns on the carpet. From what I got from LE's statement there were burns in the apt. on the carpet and that's where it was supposed to have occurred. My ex worked indoors and out so I don't think there is a danger using that equipment inside. Pretty sure it will only damage whatever you hold the flame to. They don't give off vast amounts of smoke or odors, etc.

Here is a quick test people....go get your hair brush, take the hair out, place it in a big frying pan, and light it up with a lighter or match...now take a big whiff, I say probably multiply that 10 fold.

Thought this might be a good article for some to read if interested in learning more about how she became to be who she is.

http://ushealths.net/2011/01/how-trauma-shapes-sexuality/

Hi angela! thanks for posting this above article..it touches on some of the issues I posted about earlier when speaking of "the perfect storm" {i.e. specific circumstances, abuses, genetics, actions/reactions, choices, etc that when ALL OR A GREAT MANY OF THESE SPECIFIC ISSUES ARE PRESENT IN AN INDIVIDUALS UPBRINGING AND LIFETIME THAT IT CREATES THIS "PERFECT STORM" CREATING DISASTEROUS OUTCOMES FOR THIS INDIVIDUAL AND THEIR VICTIMS..of course that is all just in my opinion only..but I do feel that there is some validity to what I'm thinking and this article directly touches on a couple of those "specific issues" that I find are present in individuals such as MN...

am curious as to where exactly you found this info and am interested to see any other similar info/studies about these "specific issues"{which BTW in my opinion alot of these "specific issues" are still quite taboo to even discuss..thus there seems to be very little info/data discussing such taboo subjects}...but its also my opinion that until we start figuring out, understanding the origination of the "perfect storm", until that is done these monsters will only continue to be "in the making" and becoming more and more prevelant<-very scary&terrifying thought..and you'd think that because of that you'd have more being done to study, learn, and be proactive in "nipping in the bud"{for lack of a better term}these "perfect storms" in the making... does that make sense? I hope I'm explaining atleast somewhat in a way that is understood??

So, if you know of any other articles, info, data similar in nature would you point me in that direction? TIA :)

Didn't see that, thanks :)

Way back in the 70s I was actually a receptionist in an ER. The very worst thing that ever came through that ER during the 3 years I was there were two people who had been working on a cold night in a ticket booth at a Drive-In (Outdoor) Theater and a little gas heater blew up and burned them severely. I can tell you that smell of burned flesh and hair is very, very strong, but I do believe if cleaned properly with disinfectants, the odor could be eliminated, at least in 4 days. But, not so sure if it was on carpet, etc. if it would go away that easily. Perhaps MN has had experience in cleaning up this type of thing. Could be she had thought this all out so methodically, she knew how to do the cleanup.

Oh wow...that's horrible...

You got me to thinking... Since Mona did maintence work, which maybe included cleaning out and possibly cleaning up apartments/units that she would have access to commercial/industrial cleaning type agents - like what hospitals/nursing homes would use that eliminate or disguise smells more so than cleaning agents we can buy in stores?

I've read or heard on oprah once that a young girl who was raped usually will either become promiscuous, avoid any sex at all for years and years, or become gay.

I myself went the 1st option, it was part of me mentally blaming myself and feeling cheap. I actually remember thinking when a boy hit on me (about 3 years after the rape) I would think in my head "You want to _____, I show you a _____. I mean I was out there! Never had any strange fantasies though.

I have a different take on a rape survivor being promiscuous and it and this is from a rape that I endured when I was 14....I held myself until I had a serious boyfriend after age 18 but once that happened I found it hard to tell any man no, When I was older I finally had a light bulb moment, it was easier to say yes and feel like a sl** the next day then to say no and feel like a victim once again...So that again is just my take on that part of it.

I have never smelled decomposing human flesh but have smelled decomposing animal flesh. Is there a major difference or are they similar?

My hair did catch on fire as a child and it's an odor you don't forget. Just awful and I'm told burnt flesh is a lot worse.

"The only thing missing in this house is his tan T-shirt with a guitar on it, a pair of jeans, his white sneakers and his black stuffed cat that my grandmother made him," Davis said. "There was no struggle."

A witness reported seeing a woman matching Nelson’s description pull up to Davis’ apartment in a gray or silver pickup truck near the time the threatening phone call was made.

Davis said Nelson stopped by the house later that night, saying she’d come over that morning looking for Ennamorato. Davis said Nelson told her that Jonathan had answered the door wearing no shirt, and it seemed like someone was in the house with him.

Totally bizarre thing for her to say, that Jonathan answered the door with no shirt on. I understand her saying it seemed like someone else was there - that was to deflect from herself.

But why say he had no shirt on?

I think she was thinking sexually about him, playing her fantasy out in her mind again. She obviously could not say what happened but it was a way of secretly taunting.what she did. Not even so much that it was taunting the mom but that she wanted to talk about her "wonderful time" and couldn't except by being near the family and alluding to some things she had fantasized about or had seen later at her place (i.e. undressing him etc)

Oh my gosh Lera. When my brothers were teens they lit fire to some hair that was in the trash and it was horrible smelling......just awful.

I had forgotten all about that until you mentioned it.

Does anyone know if the trash can was metal or plastic?

Hasn't been reported as far as I've seen but would like to know also. If it was a City of Houston garbage can then it was plastic. They're really large cans, heavy-duty plastic. I was thinking if she was trying to get rid of things, it might have been the city can placed outside for pickup but I'm just guessing.
