On NG they just mentioned the "he's a pest" quote. I've seen that mentioned here. Does anyone have a link to her saying that and about what minute mark? TIA

HPD defends Amber Alert delay for missing 12-year-old boy

HOUSTON – Investigators waited three days to issue an Amber Alert following the disappearance of a 12-year-old boy because of conflicting stories from the boy’s parents, police said Tuesday.

"Until we were able to narrow down and confirm that an abduction had taken place, we couldn't issue one," said Kese Smith, an HPD spokesman.

Jonathan Foster was last seen by his stepfather around 1:45 p.m. Friday, police said. His mother reported him missing around 9:30 that night.

It’s unclear why it took so long for his parents to alert the authorities, but police still waited until Monday afternoon to issue the alert.

How do we know LE doesn't have a clue when they haven't had a televised press conference? We have no idea what LE knows. MOO
IMO if LE is just now taking everyone in for questioning, they are 5 days behind.

You know, I 100% feel you on this one. More than 100%

Per the comment section of an article that was online last night, the aunt says that they called the PD to report him missing, but because he was 12 years old he wasn't considered for the Amber Alert, but rather a run away. The aunt explains that she called them on Saturday to tell them he was missing, but HPD did nothing until Monday.

BALL DROPPED, IMO.

Comment #33, per the "Aunt" of JF. *Seems she now has clearance to post and I am super happy she does - finally! I swear myself I read reports that there was no Amber Alert issued on Friday because he was 12 (that could be in thread 1 somewhere.)

I don't know where you read that either, but that is 100% incorrect. AA is issued for: ftp://ftp.txdps.state.tx.us/dem/amber/amber_alert_training_guide.pdf

Read the whole thing. Maybe someone was confused or just made chit up? Either or... incorrect. IMO

I'm so confused...I thought he was at the babysitter and went home to get a video game, but NG is saying he was home and went TO the babysitter to get the video game.

My father was 5ft 9'' before death, on his autopsy report he was just under 5 foot tall.

My mum shrunk too. Very strange....

If Jonathan was at the Babysitters, and he had run home to get a game, at what point did the Babysitter realize he was missing, and what did she/he do?

Good question.

Reporter WDAI Newsradio: CPS was never called out to families in this case even though investigating families in this case.

Police didnt even put out the amber alert until after Texas EquuSearch had been notified and collected information. I was on the phone with my MIL when EquuSearch was at the house

Well, I could totally be wrong, you are right. And I will eat all my words. I based my information on the comments of that article (which was linked), and they came from the Aunt who once took care of JF. She has since joined us on the forum, so hopefully we are lucky enough to get her take on what happened per the AA.

NG reporting the police have removed a computer from the residence, checking to see if he was the victim of an online predator.

Im also curious about Christmas presents. I wonder if they found any?

  • #278
Heard that too. If it's not Jonathan then who is it? How many children are missing in the area?

I heard the "pest" part too -- curious to know what that's all about.

AND, why didn't the babysitter walk with him to get the video? Isn't that what babysitters are for?

Hinky!

Mel

I don't think someone is telling the truth, so I agree with the hinky. Children with ADD are very hyper and extremely curious. Parenting is very hands on and it sounds like poor J was moved about. Not good.

my point exactly... and there IS AN AMBER ALERT OUT... right my fellow peeps? or there was... and if I read wrong I am duly chastised for saying it was so.

No... the Amber Alert is not a difficult thing to understand. However the deployment of it seems to be?

moo

It was issued on 12/27/2010: http://www.ncmec.org/missingkids/servlet/AmberServlet

may have to click somewhat to get to the right page.

to see an amber alert for a child is an amazing tool.. it has saved many children..

but to not have from LE the vehicle or perp description ... well I must ask what are they getting at?

Where is the car and perp descrption? where is a the timeline?

more is going on here... and I do NOT THINK they are going to be able to defend their deployment of the much coveted amber alert that they issued.

If they are able to issue this alert they need to provide the public with the needed details that WE NEED to be vigilant citizens and bring this child home.

Again LE... call a case a case.. and ask for the info you need. The public is out here and more than willing to help you.

MOO
