I'd like to give LE more credit than that. I believe there were other factors, alot of ambiguities, etc. Here are the Amber Alert guidelines:

I'm not trying to defend LE's decision, but it seems to me that alot of Amber Alerts I've seen are 'snatched by so-and-so' or 'was driven away in such-and-such car' or 'was last seen talking to an RSO and then vanished a few minutes later'. I really do think that LE thought they did the right thing - and not out of convenience or anything like that. It seems that they really had so many differing accounts/details that I think they knew early on that the perp was close to home.

I still think it was inconvenient for them to issue that amber alert because their staff was short for the holidays.

I read an article where the equisearch volunteer group leader tim miller was suggesting the lack of manpower playing a role in HPD's decision to delay the amber alert and i agree with him.

I am posting this, my mom wrote this for Jonathan, even though she isn't his biological grandmother she still played that roll while he lived with us.

*It's not the answer prayed for. It's not what we wanted to hear. My mind refuses to allow me to connect you with the*words I am reading on the reports. Not Jonathon, it's not the child I knew. The Jonathon I know continues to smile that embarrassed little smile, the one that plays timidly at the corners of his mouth. The Jonathon I know, his*eyes continue to see the things that made him happy,*a new litter of furry puppies, his granny smiling at*him with pride, fireworks displays and fish caught on*a line. *And not the Jonathon with the incrediable appetite, always grateful for the second helping. No, I can't put that together with the horrible reality of a world gone mad where a young boy is disregarded completely. No, I will keep my memory of you as the last time I saw you, walking into that airport in Tulsa, walking with a sense of purpose. You were going to go see granny, you were happy. The last time I was near you you were being gently transported into a cloudless sky. You still are. Relax into the arms of*the one who bears you now to your ultimate comfort. Smile into the face* of the wonderful counselor. Open your eyes to the beauty none of us have yet seen. *It wasn't the answer we prayed for but*we continue to pray for the peace that passes understanding."

These words are so heartwarming and heartbreaking. The love in these words gives me peace that this handsome child was loved while he was here on earth. I'm praying for your family. Thank you for sharing your Johnathan with us.

All so senseless.
God bless you little Jonathan.

Here's another one from that day, love how he has his hat in the air, it's not a close up but it describes just how easy going he really is. That is his favorite hat btw

And this one from Halloween, look at those smiles, he had braces at that time.

Just a theory, (total speculation only) if LE finds that the telephone call really did exist, could it be possible that the SD was 'hosting' some sort of 'party w/illegal substances' and the boy walked in on something - grabbed the house phone and tried to call his mom @ work. 'Party-goer' grabs the phone away from the boy - hence raspy voice???

Rather than try to explain to the mom what was going on - disposes of the boy?

I PRAY that someone involved or someone who KNOWS/SAW something talks!!! There are FAR TOO many cases of children gone missing that the answers are never discovered.

I am praying for the family that loves Jonathan.

SO sweet! I hope they didn't eat all that candy! What was Jonathan dressed as?

thank you for posting the link. they were concerned that they would have too much information regarding a missing little boy and they didn't want to work any tips from an amber alert that would "overwhelm them" until monday after their holiday. That is disgusting.

I feel the exact way, but I guess that is the procedure for HPD.

Heck yeah closer!!!

Unfortunately I don't believe the Amber Alert would have worked in this case anyway. I think LE knew early on what they were possibly dealing with, i.e., parental involvement. I don't fault LE for not putting the Amber Alert out earlier because it's very likely that J was already gone.

Reneeloveyou - thank you so very much for sharing your photos of Jonathan with us. He was a beautiful little boy and I can tell just from what you have posted and the photos that Jonathan was very well taken care of and provided for by your family. I wish there would have been someway that Jonathan could have continued on in your care and I'm sure that will haunt you forever. I can't even begin to imagine how this will impact your children and my thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you while you attempt to explain all of this to them. If this is in fact Jonathan, I hope you can take a little bit of comfort in knowing that he is in a much better place now than he was for the past few weeks.

May God be with you and your family during this awful time and again, thank you so much for taking time to come here and post.

~JMO~

I found a side view picture from Texas SO registery, I cant post it. grr, but the ears are really wrong.

Dont you think LE has done complete background check on these two? or three, which ever it is.
Do we know the mothers last name from last marriage/or maiden? Im looking into Nurses Registerys. No A D. What job would slow you down from going to an emergancy phone call?

I read an article where the equisearch volunteer group leader tim miller was suggesting the lack of manpower playing a role in HPD's decision to delay the amber alert and i agree with him.

To put Tim Miller's quote in context, here's the remainder of it:

http://www.khou.com/news/HPD-defends-Amber-Alert-delay-112574489.html

The founder of Texas Equusearch, Tim Miller, said an Amber Alert issued sooner than Monday would not have been as effective because there was no concrete information for the public to watch out for.

Miller said HPD does not deserve any criticism for its handling of the case, but he did suggest a lack of resources and the time of year may have played a role in the delay.

I don't know why it was delayed, but I think it's a little too critical of LE to say that they didn't want to be "overwhelmed" until "after their holiday" and that it was "disgusting". These people have a very difficult job, and mistakes are made - and sometimes in hindsight they realize they could've done something different. But I do not think it was deliberately done to the point of being "disgusting". JMHO.

A call center taking inbound calls or doing auto dialed outbound calls because they work on the phones they really frown on taking personal phone calls. My husband used to manage a database for a call center and wasn't on the phones, but if i called for an emergency he got chewed big time.

Im not thinkin that Jonathan "walked" in on something.... sf had his own apartment and I am thinkin he would do his dirty deeds there. Of course unless that is a lie as well....Sadly I think its deeper than that and Jonathan was abused and preyed upon... by him or another perp/roommate or both...jmo

I know I am chiming in late but can't help commenting...
Oh Renee, I am so very sorry for what you are going through. Welcome to WS. While I am thankful you are here, I wish it was under other circumstances. And thank you so much for sharing beautiful Jonathan. The pictures you shared really show his personality. What a darling lil boy. My thoughts are with you <3

JMO....but I can't find fault with the HPD on this, it seems very clear that they could tell right away that they were already speaking with the people who had all the answers to what happened and where this child was located. It would have done no good at all for the general public to be looking for a child in restaurants, cars and shopping centers. Those LE officers taking the reports and responding to the call most likely already knew where this case was heading and following up on the information they already had was more productive than allocating staff to answer random phone tips from concerned people who "thought" they might have seen this blond boy hanging out at the mall earlier that day.
