Still wondering on that one... with evidence being seized... first the car... then they said, NorthEast. I couldn't tell if it was faulty reporting.

Watching the video, it struck me as an odd way to "handle' a suspect. They didn't seem to be worried about her taking off or being a danger.

I think any suspect would be handcuffed for officer safety. Looked weird to me that they just let her walk around and get into back seat of vehicle without any safety precautions. So I'm guessing this person in the video was not the person they're going to arrest.

Update for people like me who are just popping their heads in to see the latest:

"A close family friend has been arrested and is expected to be charged with the kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Jonathan Foster, a police source close to the investigation said today.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was arrested this morning at her home, the source said.

A break in the case came when a vehicle that "was very identifiable as her vehicle" was spotted on surveillance video taken from an office building near the ditch where a body believed to be Jonathan's was found in the 9900 block of Hardy on Tuesday." <snipped>

The pics of the car that are blowing the margins to hell and back :great: , are of the car the LE drove off in, not the suspects car.

The woman wearing a white tshirt in the video would have been in handcuffs if she was "arrested in her home:. We may be barking up the wrong tree.

TY for the link, Nums. It makes it a little clearer why the parents were not forthcoming-I cannot speak for TX, but in my state it is legal to be a "latch-key" child at 12. In that you can be left home alone for a period of time. But they may have not known, or they knew how people would feel about a 12 year old being alone on Christmas Eve.

Here is a list of Latchkey laws by state.

http://www.latchkey-kids.com/latchkey-kids-age-limits.htm

The National SAFEKIDS Campaign recommends that no child under the age of 12 be left at home alone.

Although, there is no Texas law that defines a specific age at which a child may be left home alone, there are several factors that should be taken into consideration when deciding how closely to supervise a child, including:

the age, emotional maturity and capability of the child;
layout and safety of the home, play area, or other setting;
neighborhood circumstances, hazards, and risks;
the child's ability to respond to illness, fire, weather, or other types of emergencies; and whether the child has a mental, physical, or medical disability.

https://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Protection/About_Child_Protective_Services/faqchildalone.asp

In short, there is no latchkey law in Texas.

or they didn't arrest her right on the spot but instead claimed to just want to talk/interview her.

Does anyone have a map showing the relation to where Jonathan lives vs. where the body was found? It would really help put things in perspective....

I knew a woman once that looked quite similar to this one.

When I talked to her on the phone she "sounded" like a petite cheerleader type.

When I met her... she looked like that.

This could definitely be the woman with the raspy voice.

I numbered the sequence of the events...so it should make more sense now. It is still creepy and odd. This person is at the Davis home with a live Jonathan. Read the below: (The numbering of events is my addition...)

That afternoon, someone called Angela Davis' workplace, Harris said.

(1)"We believe Jonathan's actually on the phone and asks to speak to his mom," Harris said. A colleague who answered the phone said Angela Davis was working and would call him back.

(2)"And then a female gets on the phone and says, 'This is an emergency,'" Harris said.

(3)By the time Jonathan's mother picked up, no one was there, he said.

(4)Angela Davis called the land line where she and Jonathan live, and a woman with a gruff voice answered, Harris said.

"Angela says, 'Well, this is Angela, I'm Jonathan's mother. Who are you?'" Harris said. "And the woman is heard saying, 'Is Angela your mother?' And the boy replies, 'Yes ma'am, Angela's my mother.' And then the phone went dead."

IF the story is true that Jonathan called his mother at work, and the cordless home phone is missing, and IF the step-father showed up at the house while Jonathan was alone, it appears to me something happened between Jonathan and the step-father. This woman may have been used to transport Jonathan. For now, I am leaning more toward the step-father, ruling out the mother's involvement to 25% and this woman (family friend) as perhaps an accessory to concealing the body.

Yes, I think the duplex was SD's and that is originally where they were gathering evidence before any bodies were located. The apartment complex is a short distance away. The apartment complex is in video of the car being towed... that was after the video and burned body was found.

And also.... why is the phone missing from Jonathans apt? To me that means whatever happened to him started at home and the calls came from their home #.

IMO SF was at that apt with someone else (probably the lady arrested) and Jonathon walked in on something. I wonder if she called maybe trying to help him because SF was going to hurt him?

BBM ...
Maybe something happened and Jonathan got scared, grabbed the cordless phone and ran to another neighbor's apartment? Then, because he had been running, he was out of breath. He called Mom, but because he was running, he was out of breath and the neighbor said - Jonathan, give me the phone. So Angela answers, neighbor asks JP if his mom's name is Angela because she's not familiar with her, he says yes, and whomever he was running from breaks into the house and grabs the phone and turns it off?

Just pure speculation. I read too much Nora Roberts ...... :innocent:

Only reasons I can come up with for taking the phone are:
1. fingerprints
2. DNA
3. used in commission of crime as weapon.

Those are both police vehicles. The first one was driven out by an older officer in uniform. The bluish one was the one the detectives and the suspect left in.
