Here is another part of this I have had questions about...When this call originally came into police about a body at Rolled Alloy, LE was originally told there was a body in a dumpster, Does anyone else remember that? and when LE arrived they found his body in the culvert, so I am thinking that the person who called in the tip about Johnathan's remains may have been someone very close to the crime, and not an actual passerby going down the street, first off how would someone driving down the road know about a body in a dumpster? and also how would a driver know it was actually a body that was half way in a drainage pipe? Am I losing my mind or does anyone else remember it this way, I just have a feeling that call came in from someone with direct knowledge of this case but they thought he had been dumped in a dumpster.

But didn't the babysitter LIVE with bio mom? That's what freaks me out. Is there another Zenaida roaming around out there. I know she retracted her story, but what I don't understand is WHY?

I better sign off -- have about 7 loads of laundry looking at me from a flu fest over Christmas.

Be back later!

Mel

The bio mom moved into EN's apartment. EN sometimes babysat (at least that is what they are saying now... but EN also had a job so maybe Jonathan was left home alone).

I remember seeing on video LE was seen taking a grill rack from Mona's house and a broom.

Perhaps, will identify objects at presser. Appeared to be of lighter weight, IMO, like a wire mesh/screen of some kind.

It did start as that, but other bodies were found that day including an infant actually found next to a dumpster. I think that the media was probably "alerted" or privy to the information before us and the stories became stew.

From irc, the infants body was found early am by a maintenance worker. HPD arrived later and then it was reported later in the day, it was after finding JF's remains.

Children from what are considered "good" families example A mom and dad, a home with a white picket fence and a cat and dog also get kidnapped and killed. It might have everything to do with an issue with the mom and step dad exposed him to or a person they exposed him to or it could have nothing to do with them and Mona was just a predatory individual.. we don't know. :(
I think the mom for sure is innocent and I worry for her that if she had an issue and was staying clean doing what she needed to do, this could cause a relapse.. I dunno maybe i'm placing my sympathies in the wrong place, but i don't think so. Of course the rest of my sympathy lies with the aunt and uncle, and grandmother and the rest of the family too.

I guess i just feel compelled to stick up for the mom for whatever reason. Maybe it's because I got to know my son's bio mom. and i know she struggled and she tried SOOOO HARD. I don't know..

BBM and my post is in regards to these cases in general. IMO, The majority, not all, of cases like this can be directly linked to a high risk lifestyle and drama that comes with that, that the childs caretaker chooses to be in. Just by being present, the child being younger, weaker and defenseless becomes the target. This often ends with tragic events. If it's not the kids becoming a victim it's the adults close to them. If it's not the caretakers responsible it's one of their sketchy associates. In this case it looks like it's a sketchy associate. It's reported at WS over and over daily. It would be laughable how predictable it is if it weren't so horrible.

Okay, I am almost caught up but want to toss this out there while I finish.

The articles say burnt carpet - was this baby killed then burnt? IE: was the carpet burned to cover blood evidence?

I am just sick over this. Could hardly sleep for praying for this little guy.

I hate saying this but I think Mona put him in the oven and when taking him out she dropped him on the rug, causing the rug to burn.

That was a confusing day because there was an infant found in a dumpster, a body in the Buffalo Bayou and a charred body in a ditch.

thanks was not enough, and if the rest of the family thought Jonathan should not have been with his mother maybe they should have call DSS, CPS, the law, ect. I don't think we should blame one of the victims for trying to be a good parent, going to work, left DD after slap Those are both things that a good mom does JMO

I was just getting ready to post something similar regarding the mom moving out with her son after the SD slapped JF.

I, too, have to give her credit for doing that. She may have lied with the "babysitter" and video game stories, initially. She kept repeating it to the media....but, in my heart, I believe she told LE the truth....she just didn't want to look like a "bad mom" and be judged in the publics eye.
I also believe that LE did the right thing in not putting the AA in place at an earlier time....they had a "moving target"...a raspy voice in a phone call and a missing child. IMO, they knew almost from the get go that this case was gonna involve someone in the area and they knew this case was gonna be a real doozy.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not liking what this mom did, but she DID at least make an attempt to protect her son.

How many times have we seen battered and/or murdered children who were harmed at the hands of a boyfriend/step dad??

How many times have we seen the mother choose the abusive boyfriend/husband over their own flesh and blood???
Ethan Stacey comes to mind...the poor childs body was found with his face beaten in and, IIRC, they attempted to burn his little body.

It's just such a tragedy, yet again, we ended up with an innocent childs senseless death.

A 20 lb turkey barely fits in an oven!

Nelson's criminal record dates back to 1984 with charges for criminal mischief, aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana, theft and terroristic threat. According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, she was found guilty of aggravated robbery in 1984. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the same charge in 1991, possibly for probation violation, officials said.

1991 was commiting a felony for transporting illegal aliens.

**WARNING GRAPHIC**

That vacuum cleaner smell in horrific. Can you imagine the stench from a burning body?

I would like to know exactly where the burn site was. Also, why didn't she burn his clothes? Why keep them? Was she planning on sending them back as a warning?

If you live near meth labs or where anyone smokes crack you get used to the smell of chemicals and weird stuff burning an are too afraid to ask questions let alone call the police.
I still think someone noticed but just idn't report it or though someone was burning debris or trash. :(
sick.

BBM

Two thoughts: it was Christmas time and folks cook alot for family, etc. Something burning was probably brushed off as someone burning something they were cooking for Christmas. We live in an apartment and smell what others are cooking once or twice week. Sometimes it does smell bad and I think 'WTH is that?' but not once would I ever think it was a... person. :(

Other thought: GRAPHIC WARNING!

They carried out little stakes like the ones for holding up little signs, but when they were putting them in the vehicle, they didn't seem 2D/flat - more 3D, like there was depth to them. The tops were covered with plastic bags by LE. I get nauseous now, putting those stakes together with a welding torch... and burned carpet but not a burned down apartment. Meaning, maybe he wasn't actually touching the floor - I can't type the rest. Sorry - I hope it's clear from my post what I'm thinking...
