Happy New Year Linda.

It is sad that we all come together to grieve another precious life lost.

They said Mona was known to hang around where Jonathan lived. I think she saw his step dad leave and then she struck when the opportunity was right.

He was a child. She probably told him she had something to show him or that she had some fantastic video games at her house he could play. You know how cunning psychopaths can be.

imo

or some "emergency" and claimed she needed his help. Man, I hate psychopaths!

Motive= because she wanted to.

The timeline of events. Stepfather shows up at 1:45 PM and the rest is well known with the phone calls, who answer, mother home etc.

I would never rule out a woman when a murder happened.
Didn't someone say the SD went?to check on him around 12:30?I thought I read that somewhere.Did he come back twice?

This killer was making a statement. Burn a body with a torch and leave it will where it will definitely be found. Whatever her thinking which I can't even begin to understand was trying to communicate some kind of message.

That gives me chills.

Serial killers often will leave bodies where they can be found.

Yes it sure does.

My hubby has a side business and he uses his welding torch to cut steel all the time.

What horrors.

IMO

My husband was a Heliarc welder. I can't imagine. I just can't.

FWIW and sadly, not all fires or methods of creating heat create smoke. High heat burns so completely that their is little polution created. Think of a waste or medical incinerator.

Also FWIW, come to think of it, I've never seen a smokey or smelly welding shop. Maybe for the above reasons I posted. IDK.
That's probably where the confusion comes from. If the person dies in a fire smoke is expected to be found in the lungs. But in this case there were no fire.
Gasoline wasn't used. So perhaps in such a case sot wouldn't be found in the lungs.

Would this intense heat leave ash on the floor with dna from skin?

Respectfully snipped. I don't believe there was a "defense" when MN requested to speak with QX. I have not seen any reference to her having an attorney yet.

MOO :twocents:

I should have clarified the defense part. I stated last night she apparently was starting her own defense so to speak when she decided to speak with a reporter. She is blaming other people and like I have said before this woman clearly knows her away around the criminal/legal system with her rap sheet. I firmly believe a diminished capacity defense will be part of this once her DP attorney is assigned to her. Anyone with a criminal record that spans 26 years knows how to work it.

JMHO

Makes sense, I really don't know. You could be right. I would still prefer to believe, atleast, until we actually see or hear the ME's report, that he was dead before burned.

WARNING GRAPHIC

I would think burning flesh is gonna produce smoke.

There is no proof that Jonathan's body was in a plastic container. There is no proof that such a plastic container even exists. LE spoke about a trash can found at Mona's residence. If there was a plastic container, Mona got takeout prior to visiting her victim's family on Xmas Eve and after dumping this child. It would fit with her nonchalant demeanor that's been described by MSM.

Right, she lied. Are we really surprised?

LE said she was a cold woman who didn't have one ounce of remorse. (paraphrasing)

Sounds just like a psychopath to me. And often times psychopaths try to blame their crimes on someone else and make themselves the victim.:innocent: Their lives are all centered around protecting their own hide.

I just want to know why Jonathan had to be checked on at 1:45 PM.

....especially since his mom was supposed to be off work around 2pm that day anyways ~ I will go look for the link....

ETA~I give up. I thought I remembered reading that AD was supposed to be off work around 1 or 2 pm that day. Can't find it so take this as MOO?

But not so much smoke as in the fire.
From the autopsy there is no evidence of strangulation or any other trauma to the body that could indicate a cause of death due to trauma.

If Mona did not kill Jonathan, and she knows who did, why not tell who that is? Instead she says she was paid to take a plastic crate and dump it. She claims she didn't know what was in it until they were cross examining her, but the video shows her discarding a body not a box. They have her truck at the child's home, burn marks on her floor, and other horrific evidence at her home. It she knows who killed this child, why not tell instead of creating that implausable excuse? I have a hard time thinking she is protecting someone.

SDad checked on J at around 1:45. Mona stated she spoke/saw J at about 12:30 (shirtless-someone may have been with him in the residence BS). Also, believe witness spotted Mona and vehicle there at 12:30, as well. Mona then returned at about 2 PM-witness saw Mona and vehicle at around the time of a phone call by Mom to residence that was answered.
