http://www.bigcountryhomepage.com/news/officers-using-mans-prosthetics-to-id-body-found

Did Joe have artificial limbs (legs, knees or shoulder)? According to this article he has not been positively identified. I feel sure it is Joe, but they are stating no ID on the body now, so identifying through serial numbers on his prognostics.

From the article:
Although it was reported on August 6, 2015 that the man's driver's license*and credit cards were found on him, BigCountryHomepage.com has learned no identification was found on him.

Wow, first they said he had his drivers licence on him, now saying he didn't. So this means he was not recognizable to family members :( I do not recall family members mentioning prosthetics. This poor family.

I can't help but wonder if maybe Joe was in the midst of a sudden medical emergency (heart attack or stroke or something else) felt nauseous, got out of the truck to be sick and got disoriented?

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family.

I was thinking the same thing, chest pains, heart attack...
Another thought, could he have swerved to miss an animal in the road and that's where he ended up parked and dazed, etc.

Do dentures have serial numbers?

To SharonH and all of Joe's loved ones, I am so sorry and saddened at this news. Was so hoping for a good outcome.

I really hope you receive answers to what happened to Joe, and why he wasn't found sooner. Feeling heartbroken for you all.

The only thing with the Medical emergency theory ....wouldn't he flag someone down? I read up thread it's a fairly well traveled area (?) unless he had some sort of a seizure / stroke an was unable to think clearly.

That is what I have been wondering too. Why didn't he try to flag someone or try to call 911? From the photo posted upthread of what the side of the road looks like on that stretch of highway, it looks like he would have had to climb upward to get off of the road.

I know that heart attack symptoms can initially be flulike so maybe he felt GI symptoms that made him run into the woods vs flagging someone down?

That could be what happened. The thing I don't understand most is his vehicle still being in drive and him being so far from the vehicle. Hopefully autopsy results are released soon.

He had a phone in the car. I would expect him to make a call if he had a medical emergency.

Did I miss the actual link showing it was positively identified as Joe? I hope this family gets the answers they need.

What a terrible ending. I am thinking of Joe's loved ones tonight.

The way LE treated this is infuriating!!!

This is how I feel about it too, that he became ill and pulled over, perhaps to vomit and went over that small wall which prevented him being in view to passing motorists. I'm glad I'm not feeling he came to harm by someone else, (although I could be wrong) and just hope he passed quickly. Personally, I think if he'd swerved to miss an animal he would have quickly braked but LE feel he slowly stopped the car. Bless Joe, he looked such a gentle soul.

Although this ending is very tragic, I'm thankful there was no foul play. At least the family can move forward knowing his life was not taken at the hands of another. I'll be saying an extra prayer for them today.

130 yards is 390 feet.
There are 5280 feet in a mile.
He was sooo close...
