TX - Joshua Brown, 27, (witness in Amber Guyger trial), shot and killed, Dallas, 4 Oct 2019 #2

Yes, thank you very much for correction -- I did mean BJ. Some days are like that!;)

No problem! I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something because that happens pretty often!

Ita! No matter how JBs death came to be he was given recognition, often competely ignored, of what many AA men are facing on a day to day basis in their own communities everywhere.

To solve any grave issue, they first must be given national attention putting a much needed spotlight on them first.

We must find out the root causes of why so many AAs are either likely to be in jail or prison or WHY thousands every single year are murdered by men of their own race with thousand more AA men who have attempted to murder them.

The gravest danger they face every day is being murdered by others who are also AA, and of the same gender. It's an monumental epidemic that most don't want to even talk about. Imo. Even by many of those in ipowerful positions who could help resolve them if they would address them. It's happening right in their own cities.

It pains me greatly how most seem to dwell on only AAs who have been killed by polie officers of all races.

Especially when purposefully, imo, ignoring the statistic that most all of them were ruled to be justifiable by outside investigators or the DOJ.

Instead they are all put into the same category implying all were unjustifiable which is as far from the truth as it can get.

Until people are willing to be truthful putting out all of the facts... no grave plight will really be resolved within the AA communities.

In fact approximately one thousand per year are shot, and killed each year by police officers in a country of over 330+ million population, with the vast overwhelming majority of those who are shot, and killed are whites along with other races like Hispanic or Asian. Etc.

Just perpetrating the same old myth... meant to deceive has never, and will never resolve any root cause.

It only makes it worse because so many now seem way too willing to accept anything as true instead of wanting the facts.

Imo, In truth if Josh Brown hadn't testified in AGs trial he wouldn't have his own dedicated thread nor would anyone have even known his name.

I'm sure you've already noticed how his thread has dropped in posts once it became known who murdered him, and why. :(

I have long said here I am a staunch advocate in justice for all. I've never wavered nor will I ever.

It does everyone who has been murdered, and their families a grave injustice when anyone feels only justice is warranted IF they are targeted or chosen as worthy depending on WHO they are.

To believe in justice for all it must include EVERYONE. If not, it's simply hollow meaningless words.

I have no doubt JB was loved, and has left his family in tears of sadness over losing him.

Jmho

YEP! I remember how some people demanded answers in the killing of Joshua Brown and talked about “their” grief. So now what, because Joshua Brown is reported to be a drug dealer, these same people have lost interest. Where is the demand for answers now? Where are the demands for answers in the Anthony Hill murder? Where is the grief from “these” people over the murder of Botham Jean? Could it be because the murder of Botham Jean and Anthony Hill involve LE? And the murder of Joshua Brown is now all about drug dealings? These same people are now quiet. When I reference “these People” I am referring only to those in the word (starts with a P) that shall not be used in this post. I am not talking about any WS member. God bless the families of Joshua Brown, Anthony Hill and Botham Jean. Let me just add, I support LE. I do not support anyone who ends an innocent life.

I'd still like to know the why of it. Why they specifically decided to rob JB just a week after his court appearance. People can hate for a variety of reason, obviously. Was it some twisted jealousy, or did his court appearance pique the idea that somehow he would be a good target to rob. Or was it just a weird coincidence. This whole story reads like some kind of mystery novel. Obviously there's a lot more to every story.
It is possible that some new facts will come out in the next trials. It just feels like a long time to wait...a year...more.
Most pertinent facts are 'kept close to the vest' by LE.

It's possible he had a reputation for being an easy target.
It's murder 1 if the witnesses that are referenced in the arrants are telling the truth, they clearly are, premeditated.
It's quite possible somebody took a 'hit' on him.
Morris trial is this month.
LE have stated they have found no evidence connecting that yet.
But it's possible they are withholding that info until third suspect is apprehended.

There could be a turf war going on... but, 20lbs of weed is not exactly a warehouse full, would just at best put him in a mid to lower level rung on the hierarchy.

Who is S2?

I don't think it's that complicated. I don't think the guys who killed JB sat around and said "oh, there was just the AG trial happening, now's a good time". JB probably did seem weak. He was already almost killed before. Many dealers are just predators and opportunists. Really, many have no redeeming value at all. The percentage that holds true for is much higher than the general population that doesn't deal drugs. I knew one young dealer. I really liked him. He was pleasant. We played chess sometimes. He kept getting robbed and threatened. He was scared all the time. One night I was bar-tending at the club and shots were fired. James had killed another dealer and was hiding behind the bar with me. At the time, I didn't know he was the shooter. “Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear eats you”. A scared person can hurt you. JB could just as well have been a killer instead of a victim. ETA: Though in this case, depending on facts, could be self defense/manslaughter. As it was for James.

There's probably some interesting details left to learn but I'm not seeing a mystery here. And in the neighborhood I was in, you'd be surprised but people had less interest than you in what happened. I mean, people just took it in stride. When i got back to a different environment, about 2 months later, I was at work and heard a loud popping noise. I hit the floor immediately. The noise came from a bursting balloon. All IME.

I noticed that the first arrest warrant affidavit I saw for KM, citing unnamed suspect, had one report number, and the revised warrant had another.

Trying to back track, I too could not locate the court case number for MK.

At first, I thought it was because suspect 2 had not been named, but don't think that applies any longer.

Mystery continues.

It does, doesn't it ?
I spent most of the night going through most wanted lists Texas. I did not find him.
I then went through Crimestoppers Tx, by date.. he wasn't there either under any alias...
WDF?

My understanding Jenny is that his fear was in relation to the exposure he would receive by testifying and I think that's reasonable.
Special arrangements were made for him and his testimony was facilitated by his swearing in in the Judge's chambers.
Up to the time of his appearance the November people had no idea of his geographical location.
I'm still thinking there's a connection but not a solitary fact has emerged to back my speculation.

He stayed to sell drugs because that's what he chose to do. Nothing else kept him in TX.

Lawyers representing convicted murderer and former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger have filed an intent to appeal.

According to Robert Rodgers, one of Guyger's attorneys, the team plans to appeal both her murder conviction and her 10-year sentence.

NBC 5's media partner KRLD said Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot's contempt hearing is still pending and that Creuzot's office has filed a petition to have called by Judge Tammy Kemp replaced from the hearing. Kemp charged the DA with contempt after learning of a TV interview he gave about the case while under a gag order, just days before the trial began.

I'm not surprised.

I work for a defense attorney.
This is what I DO so I often side with defendants.
Yet this was a ridiculous decision to appeal.

Amber should have taken this and been grateful it was not worse.
She ADMITTED to the legal statute of murder on the stand, under oath, HERSELF.
Once she decided to take the stand this was literally the best she could hope for.

There is no injustice here. There is no false allegation. No prosecutorial misconduct.
Appealing is a slap in the face to everyone. Especially the jury who gave her a break and the family who gave her forgiveness.

Thankfully she won't be released during the appeal. Which I do believe she will lose.
Though if she got another trial, she could always get more time... so there is that. (Which is precisely why you don't appeal such a sweetheart deal as this.)

I completely agree.

AG confessed to carelessly murdering an innocent man, when she shot to kill. She elected to be sentenced by her jury, who ruled on the lower side of the penalty range -- same as manslaughter.

What does she hope to gain by her appeal -- acquittal?

Just wrong.

I never believed she was truly sorry. You all know what, Botham’s Mom’s had her figured out. I wonder how the judge feels. Maybe she’ll ask for her bible back? And how does Botham’s dad feel? Maybe she will get a new trial and then maybe she’ll be sentenced to life without parole.
