Well, from what's reported, the tipster said the 3 of the suspects planned to rob JB when they went to TX, so one can make their own conclusions on whether they ever intended to actually pay for the drugs or not.

guilty.
Struck by the efficiency of the investigation and co-operation between the two police forces..
I am left wondering how they came to know of Joshua as being 'the man' though?
it's not like as if he had a warehouse of gear.. he does not look to be a mainstream dealer..
Why did they go to him and how did they know of him?
Did they know him to be a pushover? An easy target?
Big city.
How much had they planned on buying?

The arrest affidavit for Jacquerious says Dallas police were contacted by a sheriff's deputy in Louisiana who had received a tip. The tipster said the trio were coming to Dallas with a plan to rob Brown.

Jacquerious told police all three of the men traveled from Alexandria, Lousiana, to buy drugs from Brown on Friday. When the three arrived, a "physical altercation" happened between Green and Brown, according to Jacquerious. That culminated in Brown shooting Jacquerious once in the chest. Then, Brown was shot twice by Green in the lower body.

Promise Hospital, a private long-term acute care facility, is where police say Michael took his wounded nephew, Jacquerius. Patrol officers were called out and had a conversation with the now-fugitive accomplice.

According to the arrest affidavit, Michael told the officers "they attempted to buy some ‘weed’” from an unknown individual and he attempted to rob them. They said an unknown suspect shot Jacquerious and provided officers a name of "Demon Martin."

"The rumors shared by community leaders that Mr. Brown’s death was related to the Amber Guyger trial and that DPD was responsible are false. We encourage those leaders to be mindful because their words may jeopardize the integrity of the city of Dallas and DPD," the department said.
Arrest warrants issued in Joshua Brown murder; police say it was drug deal gone bad
Wait what?! I’ve gone back to catch up on some missed posts. The 2 MIA suspects stayed at the long term care facility long enough for police to arrive and make a statement? And there was no suspicion they were linked to a call for a shot murdered victim (JB)?
It was reported JB was still alive when police arrived. So they had to have responded there fairly soon after the altercation. Within the same time frame of the nephew being taken to the long term care unit. Dispatch and LE didn’t connect the link? And then they let them go? I’m confused.
Long term care facilities wouldn’t be equipped to handle a gun shot wound to the chest trauma patient so transport to a trauma center would happen immediately even with the patient in critical condition. I don’t remember what hospital JB was taken to when he died. Anyone know if they were one in the same?
Also, interesting Louisiana sherif and US Marshall’s involved. Does that suffice everyone’s cry for outside investigators or are they all part of the frame/set up /cover up too? Just curious. MOO

The sad part of this whole thing is there will still be those people out there who are convinced this is just a cover up by the DPD to cover up them for killing him. SMH

Responding to BBM: Again, I see how empathetic you are. I wish I was so idealistic. I do applaud you and respect you. People in their 20s are adults. Nobody threw these drug dealers away. Something in culture gave them the idea that this is a good lifestyle. It's hedonistic and enticing. I have lived in an area ridden with drug dealing. There were plenty of other people living there who went to work and made an honest living. They made a choice to do so. JMO.
You are right about other people who don't go to the streets. They experience all the same environmental and genetic traits and grow up and become successful people. Some even in the same family. I don't know, but it's frightening to me.

I've wondered myself if I would testify if my life was in danger. I actually don't know.
Was JB forced to do it? Is there a subpoena to do it? Or can he just say no to doing it.

I recall there was an undercover police officer that testified, who was not identified, and who was not on camera.

In a criminal trial, a witness may be forced to testify by subpoena, but cannot be forced to incriminate himself. In other words, the witness can selectively answer some questions, and not others -- exercising their 5th Amendment right.

I further believe any witness that requests their identity shielded when providing testimony, would be granted that request -- especially if testifying for the State.

Also, I don't that JB was sworn in or gave his address on camera. I only recall his testimony beginning with him spelling his name.

Again -- I think this fear and fault about testifying more of Merritt's narrative.

MOO

After finding multiple gunshot wounds on his body, authorities immediately transported Brown to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Intriguing. Are they also going to investigate and "get to the bottom" of the problem with shootings in Chicago as well?

In Chicago, 2,141 people have been shot this year. That is 204 fewer than 2018.
Data through Sunday, October 6

J.B. went to Parkland. But which Promise Hospital did the other person go to and where is he now?

I don't know. Just very sad. I wish that our government would address the runaway crisis with gun violence in the United States.

This is not about "gun control", it is just recognizing how many people die each year due to shootings.
I don't want to pay the price because drug dealers kill each other. It's not the government's problem. This is supposed to be a free society. Live by the sword, die by the sword. IMO.
