Is there a news article about the club shooting, including the dead guy's name and the date it occurred?

Nm answered already

Brother could just mean pal or friend and nothing else. I don't it's necessarily either church or gang related.

Just have to say, I know a guy who has fathered "about" 15 kids. 10 last names. Not unheard of.

Aryan Brotherhood gang members do. It's a white gang thing.
No, it's all kinds of gangs.. they become brothers, full brothers after initiation...
Biker gangs, for example, are all brothers once they have passed their probationary period, regardless of race colour or religion

Judge Tammy Kemp, who presided over Guyger’s trial, said Monday that she was “saddened” and “stunned” to hear about Brown’s death, adding that “he seemed to be a very compassionate young man and I hate that his life has ended so soon.”

“I think that we need to let the investigation of his death go forward,” Kemp told The Associated Press during her first interview since last week’s verdict.

USF said in a statement that Brown was “a much loved and valued member of our football program and athletic family.”

Well I sure hope it's investigated better than 2018 shooting, considering the actual shooter still hasn't been arrested. And now with Brown's murder, I presume it would be a lot harder to prosecute that case. There Brown presumably would have been a star witness (which I don't think he was in Amber Guyger's trial).

Harold Brown said he has no idea whether his son's death is related to the shooting his son was involved in at the club last year or is somehow connected to his son's court testimony, but the last he heard from Dallas police indicated that investigators were fielding an outpouring of tips.

"They said people have been talking who know stuff," Brown said. "So I really hope they know something that will help."

Thinking the same.
This might motivate them to find him now.
He could, of course have left the state or the country by now..

I was about to ask you for his phone number when I realised how old I am...

Oh dear lord. "Brother" isn't a gang term, it's what many black men say when meeting, especially in CHURCH, or as an affirmation (tell it, brother), or as an indicator of (Christian) fellowship.

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

"Everyone wants to be a part of what story is taking place. And many times we share information that is totally inaccurate," Pastor Marcus D. King said.

King, who leads Disciple Central Community Church, posted a message on Facebook urging people to be patient as information about the murder case unfolds.
Over the weekend, civil rights attorney Lee Merritt, who is now working with Brown’s family, tweeted incorrect information saying Brown was shot in his mouth and chest. That post was retweeted more than 77,000 times.

Merritt later scaled back his post, saying he was told by the immediate family that the medical examiner said Brown was shot in the mouth and chest. He claimed, initially, he was told Brown was shot in the back. Merritt added another witness claimed the injuries were to the victim’s buttocks and side. That retraction was only retweeted less 600 times.

Pastor King says unconfirmed or conflicting information can, at times, be damaging to the people and to the cases.

"Let’s pause. Let’s let the truth kind of develop a little bit, because it could cause hysteria and unnecessary emotions can take place," King said.

Beyond the pale. A judge telling a convicted murderer that the man she killed forgives her? WTF.

Huh?

I definitely understood Judge to be referring to Brandt Jean, and his act of grace and forgiveness towards his brother Bontham's killer.

yeah, he said he did what he knew Botham would have done and said.

yeah, he said he did what he knew Botham would have done and said.

Actually -- Brandt made it perfectly clear that he was only speaking for himself, and nobody else. He painfully stressed this, IMO.

He said that he believed Botham would want AG to turn her life over to JC.

Brown and his family believed he was targeted in that shooting by someone he knew and had grown up with.

Mystery Surrounds Fatal Shooting of Witness Who Reluctantly Testified at Amber Guyger’s Trial

Did I see here that Joshua grew up in Florida?

Certainly, that Morris guy knows who he threw the gun to. If he's refused to give that up, does that mean he's facing a murder trial rather vs a plea deal for providing the killer's name?

I searched, too, and found nothing even hinting at who the shooter is. Seems fishy.

JB testified he moved to Texas from Florida in 2008, and graduated from Crossroads HS. Also said he attended college in South Florida.

K Morris was indicted for murder when he knowingly and willingly handed the gun to 2nd suspect that caused the death of Mr. Diggs.

I expect we will hear more about K Morris and his defense at his hearing later this month. I think the more we learn about Morris -- the closer the shooter will be.
