Like would it throw off the scent? No, not enough to disguise if he was under there.

Even if the weather is still real cold there? Doesn't it slow down decomp?

"We're going to be retracing some of our steps," Lt. Mike Penshorn said Monday morning. "Also, we are still interviewing a number of the people associated with the child and, of course, we're expanding that where we have quite a few people that we are bringing just to talk to find out what did happen in this case."According to Jerome Davis, Joshua's grandfather, that also includes administering polygraph tests to everyone who lives in the household.Davis made the comments as he arrived at the police station Monday morning to submit to the exam, which police often use to detect inconsistencies in statements made by witnesses or suspects in crimes.Davis said in addition to him and Joshua's parents, two other adults have been asked to submit to polygraphs. Penshorn refused to comment on this, saying he did not want to reveal too many details about the investigation.

Police also have had to quash rumors and red herrings.
The latest was a frantic broadcast report that searchers ripped up the mobile home floor in a search for remains. In fact, according to police, searchers merely opened the trailer's apron and crawled under the home.

If it's truly just a case of a baby who wondered off then why the hush, hush? Just exactly what details of that investigation would LE not want to disclose?:waitasec:

On researching about MHs, there appears to be an issue with mold underneath. Would mold effect SAR dogs?

The mold would definitely affect a baby with asthma...

'Search and recovery' continues for missing New Braunfels toddler

New Braunfels police are calling the search for a young boy missing in Comal County a "search and recovery effort."

Family members say they think Josh Davis Jr. is still alive, and they're hoping for a miracle.

"It's hard man, just hoping for the best and doing everything we can, just putting these flyers out," said Josh Davis Sr., the boy's father. "I'm about to go pick up another stack of 500 right now."

Sabrina Benitez started their morning posting pictures of their missing son.

The 18-month-old vanished at about 8 p.m. Friday. He was inside the family's mobile home with six other people.

The parents think someone snatched him.

NG's finally covering Joshua's case now.

All mobile homes do not have mold. There would need to be a moisture problem. The skirting around the mobile homes is easily removed.

What an absolutely beautiful little boy.

Hope he is found safe and brought back to his Mommy.

Joshua's mom on NG.

Said they were watching Toy Story - he left bedroom didn't come back in 10 minutes..she went to grand/f's bedroom, not there.

Not in living room...called LE 10 minutes later.

Thought perhaps the friend took him.

Doesn't think he went out back door because it was icy.

Joshua can't reach door knob...NG asked how he got out if he can't reach door knob...mom said didn't know

Lt. Penshorn on now - 7 adults, 2 children in residence...said according to parents home was secure, but child was missing...at least one door had faulty locking mechanism.

Mom saying only way for him to get out was front door if screen door didn't close completely, but it had been closed all day.

taking calls now, caller from NB asking why Amber Alert wasn't issued...she thinks AA should've been issue.

Lt. Penshorn saying Dept of Justice has specific criteria for issuing AA - didn't have specific info that abduction has occurred so didn't meet criteria....have to submit info to Dept of Justice & they decide if alert will be issued.

He is so, so, so darling. God, please, let him be found alive.

This story is so bizarre. The child was present in a room full of people who were visiting his home. He was in the same room as his mother yet no one saw anyone take him? And its hard to imagine a young child who has medical problems but has been actively walking since he was 8 months? Hmmmm.....

My heart goes out to his family...I hope he is found by morning...

It really is bizarre. Even if little Joshua could pry the door open--say the family member who left before he went missing didn't close the door completely shut--if it was freezing cold outside, would he have gone far on his own in that kind of weather? I can't even believe he would have exited the house once his little face got a bit of that chilly air on it. Or are little kids oblivious to freezing weather if they are determined to go outside? None of it makes sense to me.

I also just saw the mom and dad on Nancy Grace and it was disconcerting how the mom's eyes were darting back and forth when she was talking. Made me feel like she knows more than she is telling. I hate to say that! When she was talking on the phone to Nancy Grace she seemed a little more believable. JMO

I just cannot believe this baby has not been found.

But it sounds as though the local LE did a good job notifying the nearby residents. I'm not sure what an Amber Alert would have done; no vehicle, no description of a suspect.

He is a gorgeous baby. Who is this "friend" that mom says thought Joshua was with? Has he/she been poly'd? Have all homes been searched in this area, besides the SO across the street?

As to subflooring in mobile homes .. it depends on the age, etc. Our doublewide only had basically a layer of plastic between the pipes and ductwork and the underside of the mobile. When work needed to be done on the pipes it was torn away and tacked back up.

That's a neighborhood of mobiles - he could have wiggled under any one of them if the skirting was loose..

Poor little guy .. I'm in NB every week - sometimes more often.

Also as to the terrain - while that side of I-35 is generally flatter - there's plenty of ridges/ruts I'm sure ... he looks so little ..

I pray for this little one .. it's a sad thing ...

According to Jerome Davis, Joshua's grandfather, that also includes administering polygraph tests to everyone who lives in the household.
Davis made the comments as he arrived at the police station Monday morning to submit to the exam, which police often use to detect inconsistencies in statements made by witnesses or suspects in crimes.
Davis said in addition to him and Joshua's parents, two other adults have been asked to submit to polygraphs. Penshorn refused to comment on this, saying he did not want to reveal too many details about the investigation.

I haven't heard the friend's name, but tonite on NG, Joshua's mom said it was dad's friend.

And KSAT has article about the polys - the grandfather "Joshua's parents, two other adults have been asked to submit to polygraphs. Penshorn refused to comment on this, saying he did not want to reveal too many details about the investigation."

Don't recall reading/hearing where LE has searched every home in the area.
