CPS doen't need solid proof of abuse or neglect to remove a child. All they need is suspicion and concern for the childs safety.
Under circumstances such as Joshua's disappearance and with what's now being said by LE, it makes perfect sense to keep the dad's children and the mom's children out of that home.
We will find out soon enough, I imagine.
I guess we will agree to disagree. Family preservation is the goal, and at this moment, from what WE know there is nothing that says abuse/neglect. LE knows more and would probably be a large determining factor. There are laws that protect people from CPS taking their kids because they are simply under suspicion & removal from the home would indicate that a child is in immediate danger. So, like I said, unless LE provides some concrete evidence to CPS, the child would likely stay in the home. I'm speaking from experience, not my own kids being taken, but I did a 6 month internship with CPS here...
