TX TX - Joshua Davis, 18 months, New Braunfels, 4 Feb 2011 - #6

I have not forgotten this case either & keep thinking about the parents on the "Bring them Home" radio interview on Blog Talk Radio. The parents discussed in detail the time line & the friend leaving. But, the father's & the mother's account don't match up time wise & IIRC other issues involving the doors, at least I couldn't get their stories to work. One of these days, I'll take the time & take notes. Such a sad case.

bumping this up - don't want to forget this baby is still missing :(

I'm not surprised that no one has talked.
The "family friend" is being protected by family in the legal system... what reason does he have to talk?

I seen baby Joshua name on top the list i got so excited i thought maybe there was something new in the case.IMO I have always felt there were to many adults in that home that evening for nobody to know anything.Still praying for your return baby josh!

Missing child’s family clings to belief that Joshua Davis Jr. is still alive

Just like they have for every other gift-giving holiday since his disappearance, family members of young Joshua Davis Jr. have bought and wrapped presents for him and will put them under the Christmas tree.

His grandmother said this week that Joshua’s nearly two-year-long absence puts a damper on what normally would be a joyous holiday season.

I was reading the story below and my mind instantly went to little Joshua. I don't know if this is what happened to Joshua but I do think it's a possibility:

The call that a father had accidentally driven over his child, who had unknowingly crawled out of the house, came in around 5:15 p.m., deputies said.

I would think LE would have looked at and under all the vehicles around there when they were first called out. I don't believe one could run over a small child without leaving some evidence on the vehicle and the spot where he was hit. Even if he had no broken skin, and it was internal injuries, it still would have left hair and/or fibers in the tread. And that person would know it if they ran over a child.
Sorry, but I still have the theory that he was taken by someone. What happened to him after that is a mystery, but I don't believe he died in or around the house. LE has done a very thorough search of the house and the property, I believe and they would have found some kind of evidence.

I tend to agree. I do think it's possible, though. And I also think it's possible he was taken - whether from inside the home or out. Early in the case, we speculated about that person who left and returned - and whether or not he took little Joshua, especially if he had been able to get outside undetected - which we debated at length after looking at the photos of the home.

I just cannot believe that nothing more has happened with this case. :(

Children who disappear are so difficult to fathom when they go missing from a place of safety - their home, school, etc. The answer to where Joshua is MUST be within the small confines of that dwelling. I can only imagine how maddening it is for LE to have this case still open. Poor sweet baby. You are not forgotten.

I am still very very suspicious of the young visitor, who left the home briefly, then returned later. How closely was he checked out by LE?

There were so many family members in that small home, it is hard for me to believe that one of them could have harmed the child w/out the others knowing. But it seems impossible for the entire family to be in on such an ugly secret, w/out it being leaked already. So I keep finding myself going back to the visitor that left and returned.

Somebody correct me if I am mistaken, but I thought it was afternoon when he disappeared, not at night.
Katy, I agree, with that many people in the house that day, someone should have seen something and know what happened to this baby! I've also always been suspicious of the young man who left and then came back.
I sure wish he could be found, but I am afraid this is one case that will never be solved.

I wonder who it is that is'nt cooperating? They said ' key people'---so it does not sound like it's the kid who left briefly and returned. Right?

That only leaves the family members. Tham makes me lean towards 'something' happening in the home, and a family cover up.

I found this article. Don't know if it has been posted or not.
Frustrated by what they see as a misplaced focus on them, the boy's family contends the key to the case lies with a visiting friend who left the home just before Josh was discovered missing, and who has cut off all communication except for relaying his condolences the next day.

McDonald said the friend that Josh Davis suspects holds the key to the case has “hired an attorney and done several interviews. The cooperation is there to a certain extent.”
