Dr Phil airs here at 9AM, and I only caught the last 20 minutes (I imagine the 1st 40 min were just fluff and recap).

Here is what happened: Hubby showed deception when it came to the question of having anything to do with her disappearance. When told the results, he got very emotional as did his mom- she and he began crying and she kept telling him to tell the truth. They began habla-ing espanol, which Dr. Phil doesn't know so they had a translator. Hubby was crying saying he felt as though he had killed Julie, it was his fault, etc. Phil and polydude Tremarco believed he was throwing them a bone, explaining his failure on the poly by saying that he FEELS like he caused her disappearance by not being more vigilant.

Then Dr Phil's team escorted him to an Austin hospital psych unit (where he was treated back in Jan. when he attempted suicide), because he told Dr Phil he was still having suicidal thoughts. He said he WOULD take an APD poly at a later time.

Dr Phil spoke with APD to let them know all of this, they were thankful and said they planned to take polys of him and Julie's boyfriend later in the week.

Because this was taped last week, this should have happened by now (at least by the boyfriend). Bet you dollars to donuts Hubby is still too emotionally fragile and now on meds so he can't take the test because the meds would make it unreliable. I call BS on this one!

Thank you so much galvino.

Although I have internet access getting to a TV to see this show is a problem.

Yes that's BS. My understanding of the LDT isn't that it would pick up deception if the person being tested has thoughts and feelings about the question posed.

It detects deception about the answer to the question posed. His feelings of guilt would not skew the test results. IMHO.

I had been on the fence about Geo. I'm not any longer. IMHO he is not just a POI he is a suspect.

He couldn't have traveled far to dispose of Julie. He had their child with him. I think it's a good possibility she is near the Austin area. I'll have to get a map out and have a look-see later on. I am not familiar with Austin except to visit and shop there when I lived in the Cen-Tex area. All of the above is JMHO.

Dr. Phil is on at 3:30 here. I'm anxious to watch it, and I hope Julie's family gets answers.

I am not getting this whole case, as far as APD. They had their chance to give this guy a LDT weeks ago, when he stated he was willing and apparently, did not take him up on his offer. And I doubt he will take one now, no matter what he is saying. This suicidal business screams of guilt, any trained police department should know that. I don't think this guy would be that hard to crack, with an experienced interrogation team...I hope they are planning on doing this, once George is "stable" enough to withstand it. It is very obvious, at least to me, that Julie did not take off, considering she has not used her bank account, etc...why LE is not taking this case seriously is one big mystery.

George, Julia's estranged husband, FLUNKED lie detector/polygraph!!!

 • #250
Mom told me I can't move to Austin.
asked me if LE can't solve a simple crime, then you don't need to move down there, it's not safe.

About to update APD's behind the scene's activities on Dr. Phil.

George makes me sick. He has now turned the focus from his failing the poly to he's going to off himself. It's still ALL about him, not Julia, not his daughter, not family or friends. If he felt remorse, he would tell the truth.

Police issue search warrant in case of missing woman

Friday, May 14 2010

Austin police have executed a search warrant on a home in the case of a woman missing for more than a month.

<snip>

Police will not comment on how the search at the home on Garden Oaks Drive is related to the case.

It's taken long enough for some searching by LE. Finally!

Search Continues for Missing Mom

Austin, TX - More developments in the case of a missing Austin mom. Julie Ann Gonzales disappeared in March.

This morning Austin police continued searching for clues in the case at her South Austin home.

Friday morning officers arrived at the home of Gonzales' estranged husband. Cops say they were conducting a search warrant, but are not giving out any other details since this is an open investigation.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators arrived at the home before 9 a.m. This home belongs to George de la Cruz, Gonzales' estranged husband and the person who last saw the missing mom back in March.

Authorities towed two vehicles away that were registered to the husband's family members. They also took several items from inside the house.

Search dogs were also brought in to trace any evidence.

Earlier Julie's family posted where her car was found. The walgreens was said to have been close to this intersection.

...Stassney / S.1st area...

I don't have the address for the current LE search warrant being executed but:

That walgreens is located at 5600 South 1st Street, Austin, TX‎.

If we do a search on google map between the address of the Walgreens that her family identifies as the one her car was abandoned at---

And the general address of the current search warrant Garden Oaks Dr, Austin, TX 78745

It comes back as:

0.3 miles or one minute drive.

If you plug in those parameters and look at the map on zoom. You will see a small area of woods near the Walgreens. I wonder if it is accessible? From the advance auto parts parking lot area? Just a thought.

Too bad Austin police had to be shamed into doing their job by tabloid tv...

It does look like there is access to that wooded area.

Also, I hate to type this (I hope and pray that Julie's family does not read this)

That area is very commercial. More than likely a lot of dumpsters.

0.3 Mi. is a less than 7 min walk for most people...

Thanks. Not that it matters, but you can get exact address if you look at white pages under the mother's name. (I think it's actually her house.)

Kat, can you work your magic on the video from this AM when you get a chance? At :33 and :55 are pics of George (in black t-shirt), at :35 are the two vehicles towed, and at :40 is an item taken from the house during the search.

It's been 49 days.

So does this mean that APD probably got search warrants needed to check Julie's cell phone pings and to process her car?

I guess George is feeling better - he looks fine in the video from this morning. :furious:

I completely missed seeing this case altogether, and I am not far from the location of where Julie disappeared. I would be willing to help search for her, but in a group setting. Have any volunteer searches taken place already? Can we get one organized?
