Plus the image of Kermit playing that banjo. It's one of my favorite movie moments.

Banjos are actually VERY loud. I fooled around with it for a while. My parents made me practice outside, LOL.

The victim. Lisa Renee Wilson.

I believe you, but since she's listed at the top of the thread as Lisa, I suggest referring to her that way in this thread. Many of us follow dozens of cases, so keeping track of victims' nicknames is onerous to say the least. I don't think many of the people casually perusing this thread know to whom you're referring when you mention "Renee."

Still trying to catch up but on the first thread there was mention of the Lyon sisters from Maryland who also disappeared from a shopping mall. So I went to look up some more on their disappearance and found this -
A sex offender accused in the 1975 abduction of sisters Katherine and Sheila Lyon from a Maryland shopping mall pleaded guilty to two counts of murder this week, answering some lingering questions in one of the Washington region's most painful mysteries.

Wearing a bright orange prison jumpsuit, Lloyd Lee Welch, 60, stood before a judge and admitted he took part in the abduction of the sisters, ages 10 and 12, who were last seen at Wheaton Plaza Mall where they'd gone to have lunch, see friends and look at Easter decorations.
More at at link; Horrifying confession 40 years after Lyon sisters 'raped and burned'

Wonder if he is being looked at for their disappearance as well?

According to the family, "Grannie" sent Renee on the shopping trip with a pre-wrapped gift for Shawn - a toddler - Rachel's step-son. There is no evidence that the girls returned to the car. None. It was locked. None of the car's contents indicate they returned, even to unload purchases made at the mall. The contents include that pre-wrapped toy, and an Army-Navy sack with Renee's old jeans. The jeans she got out of lay-away that she changed into at that store; she was wearing when she vanished. That '98 Oldsmobile was not a crime scene.

Thanks Cat, that is a key point. The casual reader over time was always left with the impression there were several wrapped gifts and/or bags in Rachel's Olds thus, giving one the mistaken notion the girls returned to the car, unloaded the gifts then returned to the mall.

I rather think that the title of the thread should be changed, since she is referred to as Renee in pretty much every story and by her own family, if you search online.

I remember someone had asked about changing the thread title, that was probably years ago. Nothing had happened, and since I joined WS a few months ago, I assume that can't be done.

My experience is, it is not that hard to find information by using the search function around the threads. I have read up on dozens of threads this way.

With this one, I did it the hard way... Started reading from thread#1 post#1 onwards. :p

1) Working backward from known timeline ticks, assuming all reported accounts; between 10:45 and 11:15 - not a broad range.
2) It is not confirmed that he was there at all.
3) From witnesses; only the wrapped toy truck that Renee's grandmother sent with her, as shown in the 1974 film and photos.

There's a woman in the FB group that says she and another girl were supposed to meet them at Murphy's at noon. She says the trio never showed up, but also that she and her friend admittedly didn't wait very long and took off shopping themselves. They never saw the trio that day in the mall.

All this, if accurate, tells me they likely disappeared from that mall shortly after their arrival.

ttcrider, I 100 percent agree with you that Welch is a prime suspect. He abducted the Lyons sisters from a shopping mall a few months after the Trio disappeared. Like the Trio, their bodies were never recovered (he burned them). Also, according to the FBI timeline Welch was in Texas in 1974.

Gruffin, The Tape Recorder Man was cleared a long time ago. Lloyd Lee Welch murdered the Lyons sisters.

Personally I would not feel comfortable referring to Renee as Lisa. She's lost so much already. I don't want her to lose her preferred name, too.

"Biting my tongue." A very American expression; used by people who know when to keep their mouth shut no matter how difficult it is. Not saying what's on my mind has never hurt me. My hearing is Purrr-fect. And I don't look away. This is one of those times.

I'm so having a hard time not saying exactly what I think. I've watched this case evolve for years. I've been and active member in Rs group. Not for a long time bc I caught on to his game. I've been able to keep my mouth shut for the girls.

Thank you for ALL your hard work, dedication, and commitment to the case FWC. I've followed you for a vey long time.

I have so many questions. But after the show R put on at this fund raiser is almost enough to make me rant. #ugh
