Thanks, I haven't seen anything on jewelry at all and bare minimum for clothing. I will keep looking. If you run across anything please let me know
Rachel was reported to have been wearing her wedding ring- Lisa her new promise ring...

Ok. Strange things: per TT there were supposed to be $150 in savings bonds in the car glove box- still there when car was picked up.

Rachel had on orange/white too, changed into the new pants she had on layaway at Army/Navy Store

Debra got married 45 days later
Debra had a child

Ok. But here are questions:

How long did Rachel date TT. They had a church wedding so that should have required advance planning..what were the dynamics of the marriage? Happy? Problems?? Was Rachel pregnant? I saw a report that said she was before she disappeared...

WHY did they disappear?? WHY have all the reports suggested Rachel was the target?? Strange. Strange. Strange....

Two corrections needed to your post.

It was Renee that changed into new pants.

D didn't have a child within the marriage you referenced. The child was born years prior to that marriage.

Just a reminder - to myself as well - all 'facts' need sources, all theories are noted as theories. Otherwise we are no better here than FB!

Edit: refer back to Cat's theory: then some known suspect's DNA had to be on the envelope. If that was his original envelope. Then why has it not been identified?
The envelope looks like the type that a local business might use to send out Christmas cards to former customers. Over the years I've received Christmas cards from car dealerships, realtors, insurance brokers, etc. The envelopes are often hand-addressed, but they often don't have return addresses on them (maybe because the senders want to save time, maybe because they know many people would throw the cards away without opening them). TT could have received such a card that morning and then claimed that the "catch it" letter came in the card's envelope. Whatever DNA is on the stamp and the flap could have come from some random secretary.

Not christmas card perhaps, not really that size, but advertising (junk mail)? Then it couldn't be a ransom note inside.

Are there any wedding pictures??

Yes.

Remember: All accounts state it was D that retrieved the envelope and D that took it to the FWPD.

What is source of them having no money?

That does not match the information I've that I've been given privately.
It also doesn't match public info, as Renee clearly had money.
It was published in the Star-Telegram "...between them they had $23.00..."

Question: "What time of day did Tommy get the letter that is supposedly from Rachel from the mailbox?"
Debra's Answer: "It was sometime in the morning... I remember sitting in their living room in their recliner staring at the wall, it had been a long long night.. It all seemed surreal and this could not be happening. Way out of character for my sister. I could not see the hallway that went to to the front door. I remember hearing Tommy open the door and a few seconds later I looked up and he was standing there with the note. His look was total disbelief. He then walked over and sat on the arm of the recliner and handed me the note. It just didn't make any sense. The first thing I did was call my parents and we took it to their house. Everything after that is a blur."

The only other accounts I am aware of are given by two people that were not there. I have never seen an account regarding the envelop by anyone claiming to have been there.

Raven perhaps meant Debra delivered the envelope a few days later.

Looking at her account again... It reads almost like a movie script, doesn't it? I wonder how much refining she had done in her memory, after playing the scene over and over for years.

Not saying it was deliberate, we all do the the same with memories.

That was shopping money in 1974.

We know from Julie's mother that she had no money. So, the $23 was between Rachel and Renee.

I am a real stickler for citing sources.
But in this situation, I won't. I have them. But I will not name them.

Since I'm not willing to do that, and the page requires it, I'm going to take a long break from posting. And just read here and continue on my path.

If there is DNA on the envelope that didn't match TT. The DNA Doe Project might be able to run it through GED match. They identified the golden state killer and a few others as well as 4 unidentified does

Only thing in the car was a gift for TT's son (brought from Renee's grandmother's house) and Renee's jeans in the trunk (one new pair, one old pair). Nothing from the mall was in the car, nor were Rachel's jeans she'd reportedly just gotten out of layaway at Army/Navy.
Wonder why Renee brought 2 extra pairs of Jean's? And was wearing a pair I would think. That's 3 pairs of jeans. Was the new pair purchased that day at mall or Army Navy?

I remember reading about the jewellery that the girls were wearing. I think LE had made that public. Can't remember details, but was thinking they had quite a few valuables on them. You can try searching the old threads, or look up Google on media reports.
I found description of Rachel's jewelry, didn't give detail on the wedding rings. But other jewelry had a little detail

Reportedly, both girls purchased/got out of layaway 2 pair of jeans at Army-Navy. Renee is thought to have changed into a new pair in an Army-Navy dressing room, then put her old jeans and the one pair of new jeans in the trunk of the Oldsmobile. The jeans Rachel is reported to have purchased that day were never found.

Did the $23 include what they owed on layaway at Army Navy? That would mean less money for the mall. But I agree when I was their age back then, just walking around the mall, people watching and seeing friends was fun. We rarely had any money
