So basically, no one told Tommy anything until later...That is so very interesting. Thank You!!!
Nor would the "owner" of the car ever try to reclaim the car if it was abandoned at he shop. Every shop has those cars which they wish they'd never seen just sitting there.

okay let's say we are quessing again. The shop owner would know if a car that was drivable and it's keys are missing. Especially if it went missing the same time as his daughter .
TT was not an owner,

It's puzzling to me why the Arnolds continually claimed they stayed out there overnight to watch that car, when they knew good and well it was a couple of Renee's people.

The yellow pick-up with lights on top of it is a very specific description of what would have been an unusual vehicle. If it had been a tow truck, then I think the woman would have said so. I'm not what sort of truck would fit that description. Here in Michigan in 2018, such a truck could be a private security vehicle, a government vehicle, or a road construction crew vehicle.

I took it to mean running lights, like this.....

May I insert some things on behalf of other family members that aren't here to fine-tune things?
Judy knew something was wrong because Renee insisted she pick her up at Granny's by 4 o'clock and take her home to get ready for the party that night. If a 14 year old misses the "curfew" she set. Something's wrong. Judy was the red-flag that set the phone calls in motion, but they began at 4pm, not 2pm. She had Granny (Mrs. Swint) coordinating communication with the Moseley's - across the street from her. She focused on Francis and Cotton because she had no idea how to reach Tommy directly. Debra was at the house on Minot. Everyone was a prisoner of telephones plugged into walls without call-waiting, caller ID, or any advantage we take for granted. I would love to see those phone calls on a spreadsheet. I can't imagine any of those people remembering with much accuracy who they talked to at what time or in what order. It's giving me a headache. Other than the Arnold's being in up to 3 places at once - the way that day unfolded is in fair agreement. There are two seats at the table that have been unfilled for 20 years at least. If the core family members want to fine-tune their recollections it should be PM where they can work it out privately.

What is your source that Mrs Wilson began making calls at 4pm and not 2pm? Thanks

I'm sorry you think that. I also think
The FWPD did not handle this well.
I'm not saying I still think he is.I just got into the case between here and the facebook page and the articles that seemed most likely to me.Now that I know must articles the past several years have used Rusty as their source and all the insane theories he has had I have just ruled out everything from him.I do think the girls knew whoever it was.

Here lies the rub, there is no way that TT or someone speaking on behalf of TT would get on here and say anything that is unknown by LE. That for sure would get him another visit. So when things like he was with Cotton all day at work are said, that's more than likely 100%. So for those in the TT did it camp...it's either TT and Cotton together did it or neither did it. It has to be both or none.

Really! What is wrong with those people? That makes no sense at all.

I wouldn't describe lights like those as being on top of the truck; I'd describe them as being along the top of the windshield. I also don't think lights like those would be very noticeable in broad daylight.

Did lights like those even exist back in 1974?

The other thing that struck me about the article is that it mentioned that the three sets of female bones found in a swampy area could not be identified at that time (1979).
-
Have they since been identified? If so, to whom did they belong?

Most shops have cars that get abandoned. They are towed in and once the repair bill is too high, the owner simply abandons the car and buys another (often stiffing the shop or someone else for the tow bill). So it could happen that way. Not that I'm saying it did, but a car could disappear and never be reported missing because the owner abandoned it.
That's why I'd like a list from TXDMV of cars that were registered in 1974, but were not legally transferred in 1975. The title was not transferred (sale), the plates were not renewed (owner still owns), reported stolen, reported as demolished (salvage license). Vin#'s are a car's DNA. Vehicles do disappear - so why can't a list be produced? If Fort Worth is "ground zero" how long could that list be? They did not walk off that parking lot. I feel like a broken record...

We have record of movements and quotes (although sometimes conflicting) for every single adult family member of the 3 girls, with the exception of Julie's father. Still the only mention I can find of him is a quote in the Star Telegram from Mrs Moseley saying they were separated and it was a "bitter time".

He is a ghost in this matter. Why?

According to Rusty he has a copy of the case file. So, why does he need to raise $6,000 to obtain a copy of the case file? If you like the sound of "crickets chirping," ask him.

If your child is missing - LE turns your life inside out. If his absence were relevant, that horse would have been beaten to death, resurrected, and beaten again and again. The police aren't completely heartless when it comes to privacy. Tommy's last quote to the media was in April 1975. He was allowed to move out of the public eye. That doesn't mean that LE forgot all about him. They've kept track of everyone they could not rule in or out.

Were any of the families houses ever searched? And where did the information that Cotton was NOT on "car watch" come from? TIA

Let's be honest none of us know all that the police know. Not Rusty. Not anyone. No one knows for fact who all the POIs have been and who's been cleared in the last 45 years.

The reason I'm here is to tear this apart and look at each and every piece. Julie's father is a piece of this puzzle.
