This is so odd. I wonder why they never called? Did he talk to them at all to set up the date and time and then they just not call back? That has to be frustrating!
Yes and He has saved their conversation(text)

I don't know where the "common sense" link is. I wasn't there. I'm thinking, if the police didn't show up until the mall closed, and they listened to what the parents told them about the whole day and so forth, then just MAYBE someone there was over-hearing the police tell the parents that kids do this all the time or whatever. I'm not a cop but I watch enough television to know that when a cop is called out to a scene like that, right then right there he would probably get on his radio and call his station. If mall security people was there, common sense tells me that the location of the car was MAYBE described that way. That officer was MAYBE talking on the radio and maybe someone that was there overheard information and formed a plan to plant a letter.
I was not referring to the fact they called it in just the wording of upper lot.l

I was shocked too. They set up the appointment and just never called.
Yes and they were giving my phone number instead of his I have a recorder on it just so TT would have something to prove what was said I was a witness that they did not call
I wanted to make sure that he answered the phone so I sat with him and waited

Have you tried texting them back and asking what the heck happened?

Edited to include a missing word.

I offered Dateline more and actually accurate information. They are reading my messages. But they won't respond now. Not one response from them since the interview.
Gee wiz... I wonder why?!

sorry if I made an "idea" sound like a fact. I read all the old posts here and more than one person thought it was weird to call out the car location that way. I wasn't confused by it. I grew up here. I do wonder why Rachel would bother to add that detail. Tommy knows that car. If she wrote it seems like it would just say the car is a Seminary South. Seems like somebody wanted that car found. If the letter is to misdirect and buy time it makes no sense to "hurry up" and find/not find the girls. It's so weird. That stupid note IS a fact. What is it proof of?

I think it's proof someone needed to buy time to hide a crime. But whadda I know.

I know its yall's favorite dead horse, but I haven't given it a beating yet. I'm thinking whoever wrote it was sure of two things. They weren't coming back and they where nobody will find them. Who would want to misdirect but not really need to buy time? Who might want to get whatever was coming over with? Who couldn't take the pressure of a long drawn out time in the hot seat? I think that note was to hurry things up, and the person that wrote it wanted it over with.

I don't know where I'm going with this train of thought- just thinking.... if someone actually MAILED the letter, do you think they were banking on the fact that it would be delivered on the 24th? Or did WHEN it arrive matter? How could "they" have been sure it would arrive on the 24th? There would be no way to be certain, right? So IF it needed to be there on the 24th, was it really mailed? Just because it was possible that it could arrive that quickly doesn't mean that one could be certain it would......

Two people fit the hot seat situation. Imo

The dark side of society. Drugs, 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, perverts, sex-trafficking. Debra and according to Debra, Fran thought the girls were sold. What made them think this?

Sold is a strange word to use, isn't it? Especially in an era when trafficking wasn't near as publicized as it is today
That is unless you're a little more familiar with the dark side than most.
We had a cousin disappear about 10 years ago, they found her body around 5 years ago.
Not one time did I hear anyone say the word SOLD during those five years... strange word to use

I totally agree.

Ok, this isn't helping to solve this case. I would care what TT has to say. That's it. Even IF someone became verified in order to speak for someone else, those words would still be heresay.

If TT won't come here himself and even just tell his story, for whatever reason, then he shouldn't be sending anyone else to do it. I can understand if his lawyer advised him to stay away from sm. If that's the case, then he should actually stay away, not speak through other people. If he is innocent, he shouldn't care what anyone here thinks.

If he is still wanting to help find the trio, maybe he and his lawyer could come up with an acceptable post or two to put here.

Websleuths is an amazing community full of intelligent minds and has helped solve many cases. Nobody here wants an innocent man to be harmed. We all want to find out the truth about these girls, to bring them home and to give them justice.
If the words weren't coming from TT mouth how would that be any less believable than the words from RA mouth?Anything from a third or fourth generation story would be more welcome IMO.

So did Dateline talk to FWPD?Maybe they found out something and didn't need to talk to him.

Interesting, would be a possibility. Maybe they are getting closer to proving something and for whatever reason they asked them to stand down for now?

Dateline said FwPD didn't reply by the deadline for the article

Per the article, FWPD did not respond.
It seems Dateline was only interested in hearing (or allowed to hear) that same old narrative... that did suddenly have a huge change to the timeline that very few people are picking up on.
