Monday, March 4th:
*Trial set to begin (@ 9am CT) - TX - JeB (6) & JesB (9), abducted by Jame Burns their paternal grandmother in 2009 Black Ford Escape SUV, McKinney on Jan. 19, 2023. An Amber Alert issued are believed “to be in grave or immediate danger". The reason LE believe the girls to be in danger is due to her earlier meth-related arrest. Girls were found Jan. 22, 2023 & are safe. *Justin Lee Burns (34/now 35) “father” arrested & charged (1/21/23) & indicted (4/4/23) with 2 felony counts of kidnapping. Bond $50K. Failed to appear (5/26/23) bond forfeited & changed (5/26/23) to $100K & issued arrest of Burns. Rearrested 7/7/23. Bond forfeited (5/26/23).
Trial set to begin on 3/4/24.
Judge Benjamin N. Smith presiding.

1/18/24 Update: Hearing was cancelled. Next pretrial hearing on 2/21/24 @ 8:30am & trial is set to begin on 3/4/24 @ 9am. 2/21/24 Update: Next trial set to begin on 3/4/24 @ 9am.
*Jame Lynn Burns aka Jame Lynn Roth & Jani L Roth (60/now 61) – 7/26/23 Plead guilty & sentenced to 5 years & credit 186 days served.

Defendant appeared in person and by attorney. Defendant waived a jury trial and arraignment. Defendant warned and admonished. Defendant pleads guilty and is found guilty on their plea and on the evidence beyond a reasonable doubt of the offense. Punishment is assessed at 10 years confinement in TDCJ and a fine of $0. Imposition of sentence is suspended and Defendant is placed on probation for a period of 6 years under the terms and conditions ordered by the Court. Perform 30 CS hours. Serve 180 days in CCJ instanter. Have no direct communication with victims. RUA's, corrective thinking, jail time to run CC with all cases.
