Also:

Was she a teacher at Stirling Middle School like Marilyn Hartman who was also found dead in her apt via strangulation 10 years later? Or did she teach at another school?

FYI the title says 1974 and the bio says 1984.

Thank you for pointing out the incorrect date. When I was reading, I say something about another teacher being strangled but I haven't looked back into the details yet (I will). I didn't realize when I was creating the threads how hard it is to correct errors, but I'll try to get this corrected.

No worries :)

Here is the other thread re: a teacher Marilyn Hartman (29) in Fort Worth who was murdered via strangulation in 1984.

If the date for Kathryn Jackson is also 1984, that is very interesting, as both were strangled, both were teachers, and both were found in their apartments. I wonder if there were signs of a break in? If not could the perp somehow be connected to the school(s)?

Marilyn Hartman worked at Stirling Middle School but it isn’t specified where Kathryn Jackson taught.

I agree, it's strange.

Possibilities:

- Connected: Serial Killer, possibly some common factor put both women at risk (like profession). It could also be that the killer looked for single women living in apartments (I don't think Mary Hartman was single tho, I'll need to double-check) and a decent proportion of single women in the area were teachers. So statistically teachers were more likely to become victims. I've been going through a bunch of cases in the Dallas area where women were found murdered in their homes.

- Indirectly Connected. Possibly the latter murder was framed to look like it was connected to the first one. Or something else.

- Not Connected. Seems kind of unlikely, but still possible.

Any other theories? I'll keep digging!

If anything, this makes the police look bad. They were waiting to test out a superior finger print detection method because they were waiting for a perfect use case? Why does the first half of the article read like an advertisement?
