Well, my first post.. Just out of curiosity I decided to look at this since no one had replied.

The synopsis..

Apparently, her and her husband moved from Bowling Green, Kentucky to Fort Worth, Texas. It was her husband that located her car at Dallas Fort Worth Airport, and was originally the prime suspect. It also appears Fort Worth LE did very little and most of the legwork of the case was done by a Kentucky, detective. They had recently purchased a car, and the salesman at the dealership had made sexual advances towards her. The husband took a polygraph and passed. The salesman had a history of this behavior and was terminated. When he was interviewed by the detective he had agreed to take a polygraph, and later declined. The salesman had been given a demo car the day before she disappeared, and then later traded his demo with another employee. There were hairs that were found in the trunk that matched the victim, however the texas prosecutor wouldn't prosecute without a body. They suspect the body was dumped in a lake..

I feel like the suspect should have at least been charged with kidnapping if there were victim hairs found in the trunk.

I those days, hairs potentially tied to a victim, could not be linked conclusively. It was only much later, relatively recently, that DNA science has allowed this to happen.

In this case, everything is very clear about what happened and who is guilty... If I were Kathy's husband, I would look for the car salesman and kill him... bad Texas justice... how are they going to look for the body if they don't want to have a suspect... these judges only care about money...
whatever it is
rest in peace

I'm guessing the guy responsible for this is probably deceased. I wonder if they kept the hair that was found to match hers, and if it could be matched to family members of hers in the present day? Not that that's going to do any good if the guy is deceased. I do think her family should give DNA in case her remains ever turn up, though, even if the guy who did it is deceased.

This very likely isn't her, but a femur was found in February, 2020 in a flooded creek in Dallas. The height estimate is 5'5 to 6'0 so only the lower end of the height range would fit, as her estimated height is only listed up to 5'6, and she was a smaller person, but I thought I'd mention it. The only way to match it would be DNA, either through her immediate relatives, or do genetic genealogy on the femur, if possible (which would likely identify who it does belong to, if not her).
