That odd wording has been there from the beginning and who knows what they meant. However, it initially seemed to be in reference to the red vehicle so I am wondering if they simply overlooked taking that part out when they decided the vehicle was no longer part of her going missing.

My hinky meter went off when I read the bolded part. Anyone else?

How about this .... " Ms. Zavala's husband told her, “Kayla bent down to hug (my daughter) and said, I’ll see you Friday. My husband buckled her up, and said, ‘We’re leaving.’ (Kayla) didn’t come outside. She is scared of the dark. She stayed in the lobby area.”""

Doesn't it sound like K said goodbye to the baby at the car where shes' buckling up ? Crap reporting possibly.

Family members say Kayla was attending a prayer service at the church. Around 7:45, when the prayer service was finished Kayla went to sit in the lobby. Family members say her mom was talking with people for a a few minutes and when they turned around, Kayla wasn't there.

This makes it sound like she was out of the mother's sight for just a few minutes. If that is the case it is unlikely that the cousin's husband is involved.

It sounds more likely someone from the church took her...not giving a pass to the cousins husband just yet. IMO

I hope they have done a very thorough search of the Church.

This is what keeps going through my head. I assume they sent the dogs through the church but...

IMO it has to be someone that was there that night. It is very unlikely that some random child abductor would happen to walk into the lobby looking for a child at that exact time if we are looking at only a small window of opportunity.

That is if the story we are being told is true. The cousin's husband's story seems a bit off to me.

Sandra Cantu flashed through my thoughts.

It seems like Kayla disappeared so quickly. The FBI spokesman at the pressor today didn't seem to want to give any details. I hope more are forthcoming. If the Uncle is a suspect, I'm sure someone will say something in the comments soon.

I wonder if LE know something? Delay in presser and stating grave/immediate danger???? Praying she is found safe.

It doesn't have to be someone from the church. She may have gone to the bathroom and someone was hiding there and grabbed her. My experience with churches is that there are lots of ways in and out. Sometimes they can almost be maze-like. It can only take a second if someone is in place and ready to pounce. God I hope not, but the fact that the FBI are leading this now leads me to think very bad things. Sigh..........

Yes. Some churches have curious areas in them, especially if they are an older building. I also wonder if any members of the AOG church were present during the Tuesday night ' other church's ' services.

I think that would be very difficult to pull off - to grab a child and get them into a car while services are letting out. It seems to me she must have gone willingly with whoever took her.

It sounds like she hugged her little cousin and then the uncle buckled the cousin into a stroller. I bring my stroller everywhere because I can put stuff in the storage bin below the stroller. There are absolutely carriers that can fit toddler and even pre-schoolers. Tula, Lillebaby, and Kinderpack come to mind.

We've had homeless people come in and use the restroom to bathe in during our meetings! Now the door is locked after meetings start so anyone late has to knock to be admitted. Sign of the times. :( I hope that didn't happen here.

What kind of church is it? Do they have a baptismal or nursery?
