Marg, fwiw google maps puts the church 1.7 miles further south on US-69, than it actually is.

Red pin at the top is the church, in relation to where google maps puts the location when you input the address.

Man, Google maps really did put that one way off. Thanks Skibs! (I'm all confused, lol)

The uncle is suspicious to me. He reports Kayla's body position (bent over) unnecessarily, and in statement analysis this indicates tension at that point in time. Also, explaining WHY Kayla did not go outside is seen as a need to persuade, because WHY she did not go outside was not asked for, as far as I know. I also noted that it was answered in the negative, he didn't say what Kayla DID do, but what she DID NOT do making it sensitive. I will look over it again because with the way it was reported it is not easy to understand who said what exactly.

It may be the cousin making some of these statements, reporting what was said to her by the uncle, not the uncle himself. Perhaps it is the cousin who is the suspicious one. I will take a closer look when I have more time later. http://www.tylerpaper.com/TP-News+Local/255530/amber-alert-issued-for-missing-bullard-girl

It also looks like the uncle reported they "looked everywhere" before they called LE. This could indicate he does not expect her to be found. http://www.newschannel6now.com/stor...ssing-east-texas-girl-shes-everything-we-have

I will be watching for further statements from the two of them, looking to see if anyone references her in the past tense, such as "she WAS a good girl, she HATED the dark", etc. This will most likely present itself if someone has guilty knowledge of a homicide. (See Billie-Jean Dunn)

"Federal and local officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a 10-year-old Tyler girl who went missing from a Bullard church after an evening prayer service.

Kayla Gomez-Orozco last was last seen about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the foyer of the Bullard First Assembly Church on U.S. Highway 69, just inside the Cherokee County limits.

She is Hispanic, about 4-feet tall and weighs 90 pounds. She has waist-length brown hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a black Racquet and Jog shirt, a peach skirt and black shoes.

During a press conference at the First Baptist Church Bullard on Wednesday afternoon, the FBI and local officials said they were pursuing all leads and were asking for the public’s help in finding her. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI tip line at 972-559-5711.

“No piece of information is too small, and all leads will be aggressively pursued to bring this little girl to her family,” said Thomas M. Class, senior special agent out of the FBI’s Dallas office, at a news conference Wednesday afternoon. “If you see something, say something. No piece of information is too small.”

Officials have not said whether the search will be contained to Smith and Cherokee counties or if it will go further to a state or nationwide search."

From the article:

Ms. Zavala's husband told her, “Kayla bent down to hug (my daughter) and said, I’ll see you Friday. My husband buckled her up, and said, ‘We’re leaving.’ (Kayla) didn’t come outside. She is scared of the dark. She stayed in the lobby area.”

****************
He buckled the 2-year-old up? Where? In a carseat in the lobby of the church? Or in their vehicle which means that Kayla *was* outside?

FBI asking for public's help in finding missing child; no lead too small- 972-559-5711

Lots at this link worthy of snippets!

There are and I think the article points to the Uncle being on the up and up.

By the time Gustavo Zavala made it home, an estimated five-minute drive, family was calling asking if Kayla rode with him, because they couldn’t find her, Ms. Zavala said.

"Kayla's cousin, Ester Zavala, said after the service was over, between 7:30 and 7:40 p.m., Kayla was in the foyer of the church with Ms. Zavala’s 2-year-old daughter. Family members said it's common for kids to play in the foyer during the service.

Ms. Zavala said she was not at the church that evening, but her daughter and husband, Gustavo, attended the service and were possibly the last people to see Kayla before she disappeared.

Ms. Zavala's husband told her, “Kayla bent down to hug (my daughter) and said, I’ll see you Friday. My husband buckled her up, and said, ‘We’re leaving.’ (Kayla) didn’t come outside. She is scared of the dark. She stayed in the lobby area.”

By the time Gustavo Zavala made it home, an estimated five-minute drive, family was calling asking if Kayla rode with him, because they couldn’t find her, Ms. Zavala said.

“She wouldn’t have gone outside, especially not by herself," Ms. Zavala said. “If she would have screamed, they would have heard her in the sanctuary. If she would have been laughing or crying, they would have heard her.”

Ms. Zavala described Kayla as a girly-girl who loves fashion, purses, lip gloss and glitter, adding Kayla is a sweet, smart, Christian girl."

No worries marg, I did the exact same thing. I just am not happy until I can accurately identify a location visually from photos (I'm a Virgo ya know ;) ) Thank you streetview

Hey fellow Virgo, :) I actually took note of this today when I realized that our missing Kayla's birthday is the same as mine. September 5th. I'm hoping for a good outcome here, despite the odds.

"Kayla's older brother, Kenneth Gomez, told CBS19 his sister is very joyful and obedient and wouldn't do anything without her mother's consent or without asking permission.

"We can't put the pieces together," Kenneth Gomez said. "We're a Christian family. We have our normal schedules. Nothing out of the ordinary. I can't think of a reason why anyone would do this."

Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell said local fire departments searched around the church Tuesday night and the area near her home in Tyler has also been searched.

“We don’t know of any reason she walked off on her own,” Campbell said. “She has a good family, she’s a good girl and never had any problems. She’s real close to her mother and father.”"

This is bad.................the feds never ask for help unless they're stumped. Keep information quiet and the public in the dark ?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,normally, yes.

The locals will usually ask for help right from the git-go. If they had solid, trackable leads, they wouldn't be asking for help.

"Law enforcement agencies assisting in the search for Kayla include the FBI, Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, Texas Rangers, Smith County Sheriff's Department, Bullard Police Department, Tyler Police Department and the U.S. Marshal's Service.

"The Bureau has brought all resources to bear in assisting our local partners," Special Agent Class said. "The FBI Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team has been dispatched to assist, as well as the FBI East Texas Violent Crime Task Force and the Dallas FBI Safe Streets Task Force.""

"SCHOOL SUPPORT

Tyler ISD’s Jack Elementary School was prepared with extra counselors in place before classes began Wednesday, said Tyler ISD Chief Administrative Officer Christy Hanson.

“The kids are doing a good job; we have extra support here. Of course we have support for the teachers, support for the kids,” Hanson said. “They’re talking to their teachers and counselors openly.”

The school used the normal fourth-grade morning assembly to speak to Kayla’s classmates, she said.

“The fourth-graders meet in the library every morning anyway. Many of them already knew and there were some conversations happening among the students," Hanson said. "So the counselors and administration told them what they knew from the media and told them there are a lot of adults working to keep them safe.”

The district also sent out a letter to all Jack parents, stating the district would do all it could to cooperate in the investigation. That meant police and FBI personnel could be on campus, and that they could interview teachers, students or staff.

The school asked that families keep Kayla in their prayers."

Ok. Anytime they say this, which is not too often imo, it is noooot good. Soon it will be "the community must remain vigilant...". This quote below is non denial of the strong possibility of an active child predator, imo:

"Everyone should be aware of their surroundings and keep a good eye on their children,” Campbell said. “This little girl was at church, and she’s missing. You can’t watch them 24 hours a day, but they need to be aware of their surroundings and teach their children to be aware of their surroundings.”"
