Me too!

And the "story" was told by the WIFE of the man. She stated that HE told her they were in the lobby, that Kayla bent over to kiss a little one, he told her they were leaving and "buckled her up" and then all of a sudden she was gone.

Kayla's brother said that they were waiting for her in the lobby as she was at a special service and she never came out.

These are two VERY different stories. Very.

One of the stories is a STORY told to Kayla's cousin by her husband who said he was the last to see her. Then SHE gives interview saying what he told her. He himself, has not been directly quoted. Why tell your wife that story? Why does it directly contradict Kayla's own brother's story.

Hinky meter...WAY UP

I was JUST logging in to post this very same thought...exactly as you put it. The woman who is Kayla's cousin, giving the interview, recounting her husband's story, is odd to me. Especially, when she made a point to mention that she wasn't there, but this is what happened, etc, etc.

Has everyone seen this vid? It is from the news station KLTV7, reporter walks thru the church and outside. Gives you a good indicator on how small this church was..it is literally steps away from 69, and the parking lot is super small...

5 minutes doesn't sound like a very big window of time, but it is plenty of time to walk to a parking lot, get in a vehicle, and drive away.

Whoever lured this girl out of the church, did it with precise timing.

Now we're down to that point where we have to start questioning whether or not the reported timeline was factual or not. Could the 5 minutes have actually been 10 ? 12? 15 ?

We only have one family member unaccounted for during that missing time. I really don't believe this is going to end up being a family member though. I think it is going to end up being a church member or an attendee that absolutely nobody suspects. I'm beginning to wonder if she was lured out to a vehicle, and then the person who did it actually went back into the building to see if anybody had noticed. This person was seen and noticed by the family during that return trip, and was therefore cleared from any involvement.

For some odd reason, this reminds me a lot of that dead girl who's body was stolen from inside the funeral home last year. Did they ever solve that ?

No, I don't believe Julie Mott's remains have been located. That was a weird case. (Although, aren't they all?)

Have they had planes and drones up yet?

The local news tonight said the police believe this to be a stranger abduction. Horrific. That poor baby girl.

Our first look inside Bullard First Assembly. This is reportedly the last place Kayla Gomez-Orozco was seen on Tuesday night.

Those glass doors look right into the lobby. If it was dark out, a person could easily see in and know Kayla was sitting there by herself.

Going back to this as I didn't see it fully addressed.

Did they see him leave? How do they know when he left? Did they call him 5 minutes after he left, or 5 minutes after they realized she was missing?

Was he in the car still when they called? Do they know where he was? Who was home when he got home to verify his travel times?

Although I immediately believed he was guilty of taking her, it seems by now that would have been fully discovered. What I wanted to know is, was his wife there at home when he arrived 5 minutes later? Were there others who saw him immediately after he arrived at home so it would be obvious he wasn't involved? With the high level of this investigation, it seems he has been cleared.

I hate being the one to say it, but I don't have a good feeling about this one. Sorry. :( Hope to be wrong. I think it's reminding me of too many similar cases.

Me too statistically it is bleak but I keep praying & hoping I'm wrong. Thanks to all of you for caring about Kayla and for posting news updates and discussion posts.

The silence from LE worries me. I'm leaning towards a crime of opportunity involving someone familiar with the Church and it's activities. I don't feel Kayla was specifically targeted.

I have seen several posts that this is starting to look like a stranger abduction. Does anyone know the source of that info? (sorry if I missed it)

Kayla Gomez-Orozco wasn’t there to make sure her older brother Kenneth got up for work on Thursday morning, as she has done every day for as long as he can remember.

The house is too quiet now. Ten-year-old Kayla went missing during a church service on Tuesday. More than two dozen people were inside the sanctuary, many of them family. Authorities have offered little in the way of answers, which seems to only intensify the pain.

Kenneth is 10 years older than his baby sister, and he has become the family’s de facto spokesperson as they desperately try to bring Kayla home.

He remembers the day their parents brought her home from the hospital.
“I remember she had her eyes open already, very aware,” he said. “I could just sense this is going to be a great baby. She’s going to be smart.”

Her brothers, Kenneth and Christopher, are her best friends. Whatever they were doing, she’s never been far behind.

Sad to hear. We know the stats on stranger / pedophile abductions, usually dead within a few hours.

But then there are victims like Elizabeth Smart, Jaycee Dugard, kept alive...

Where are you sweetheart?

Specialized search help was called in. A tip has led investigators to a field off highway 69 behind the Taco El Conquistador Restaurant, where members of the ALERT Academy began to search.

Academy cadets canvassed wooded terrain on foot, looking for any clues or evidence that might help federal investigators.

"They understand this is a very sensitive situation. Here's what we're looking for, here's the situation, here's what to expect, here's how to notify someone if you spot something," says ALERT Academy Captain Jonathan Bolden.

Agents are looking at security video from the restaurant. The owner said a mysterious burglary took place last night.

"It's a mystery, I kind of think it's to disturb what happened two days ago with the little girl," says owner Angel Reyes.

So, was she in a class or was she not? Was she seen in the lobby or not? If she was in a class, who was the teacher? Have they confirmed she actually was in the class?

(Side note, the comment by her older brother about her already having her eyes open when she came home from the hospital made me giggle....as if she was a puppy or a kitten ;) )

I want to know if the church has been searched from top to bottom.
There was a case here in Toronto about a little girl abducted and her body was found in the boiler room. This room was searched twice by LE before they found her.
I haven't seen anything indicating this. Doesn't mean it wasn't done. However it's just bugging me.
Where are you Kayla?

From what I have read this was just a prayer meeting, not a regular service. There was no childcare or classes. The kids were playing in the lobby while the adults prayed in the sanctuary. IDK if an adult stayed out in the lobby or if they left the kids unattended. I'm guessing since the child Kayla was reported to be playing with was a 2 year old (her cousin's child) they would not leave them alone. Someone correct me if any of this is wrong info.

(I had dreams last night they found Kayla alive in the fields behind the church. I wish that were true and she just wandered off for some reason.)
