So sad to hear this. I feared the outcome. I know we are still waiting on confirmation that it's him.

Does anyone remember Leann Bearden? She was a case that really impacted me. She went on a walk and was reported missing. She took her own life and was found on someone's property. From the beginning, his case made me think of her. These type of cases so rarely have any answers for the family. It's heartbreaking.

Eta: I see it's been confirmed now. :(

Wow! So very sad. Why?

A Father who hasn't spoken with a son in 10 years indicates to me that there was a great deal of unhappiness and unresolved conflicts.

I agree. From what I could gather there was plans to go to the Carolina's for the eclipse. It seems like they had plans for future, but people are good at hiding their personal lives from their loved ones. Sadly He was a Lewisville High School alum, and there was barely any press about the disappearance and no search parties talk on the Local front. Hopefully, they can quickly piece it together for the family. IMO, it sounds like he had depression issues. R.I.P. Ken Draper.

Here's some information from the article:

Around 11:55 p.m. Thursday, a resident contacted the Corinth Police Department after discovering a body on the northeast corner of their home under a large low hanging bush.

So this statement makes me curious although it probably shouldn't. Did law enforcement not check the neighborhood? The house being described is just around the corner and a couple houses down the street from where Ken lived. I bolded the curious bits but just to emphasize, is anyone aware of a large low hanging bush that would hide the body of a 5 foot 11 inch,165 pound man?

I can't see how LE would have any cause or reason to search someone's private property. There are a lot of bushes that are more like trees, but closer to the ground. (Does that make sense?) In this part of summer, many people aren't hanging out outside, unless they have a pool. (The homeowner also might be traveling.) I can think of many reasons why he wasn't found, but nothing raises my suspicions. Unless the ME says foul play, of course.

JMO.

Saddened to hear this. RIP Ken

I can't believe no one asked the neighbors to search their yards. One of my neighbors had been chasing his dog in the field behind my house. I went out to help and got the dog but couldn't find the neighbor. After an hour of not being able to find him I got on our neighborhood app and asked everyone to check their yards. Thankfully my neighbor was found safe.

How did he end up under the bush? Was the bush entirely inside the man's property, like behind a fence?

I'm curious as well. This isn't like estates with acres and acres of land. These are almost zero lot line homes. I'll be curious to see the bush he was found under.

This is a more sensitive issue than I realized when I made my remarks. I wish I hadn't brought this up; I think it's a very sad issue for their neighborhood. And for his wife.

My sympathies are with his family.

My parents had fitter bushes that could easily have hid someone if they wanted to crawl under them.. I can see it .. So very very sad.

I do remember the Leann Bearden case. If I recall correctly, a man walking his property found her remains. When people go missing, I wish LE would ask people to walk their properties. And they should be briefed on what to look for. I am following the missing person case of Michael Chambers of Hunt County. If they could get some folks to walk their own property, maybe they would find a clue. I was very sad to read this outcome on Mr. Draper. My sympathies to his family.

I can see heavy bushes someone could hide or be hidden under but these are homes in a cramped neighborhood. He was missing for over a week. My point was he didn't go on someone's vast property. He was basically found in someone's bushes on their .10 acre house.

Don't want to be graphic but in these temperatures it would surely smell quickly ...
