*Trial continues (Day 2) (@ CT) – TX – King Jay Davila (8 mos) (Jan. 4, 2019, San Antonio) – Only for *Christopher Sampayo Davila (34) “father” arrested (1/10/19), charged (1/11/19), indicted (4/3/19) & arraigned (4/4/19) with injury to a child, child endangerment, tampering with evidence, & altering/destroying/concealing a human corpse. Indicted (4/3/19) with possession of a controlled substance & being a felon in possession of a firearm. Plead not guilty. $1.25M Bond.
Trial set to begin on 8/13/19 for all charges. Injury to child, etc., possession controlled substance & possession of firearms.
8/13/19 Day 1: Have not heard whether this trial has been postponed yet. Will keep an eye out on the thread. But will put – trial continues to 8/14.

Yes, Torres was first arrested for robbery.

San Antonio woman claims her elderly aunt was the ‘mastermind’ in hiding King Jay’s death

Torres’ attorney, Karl Basile, declined to comment on Elizabeth Sampayo’s allegations against her aunt.
Basile said it’s too early in the case to weigh any plea agreements regarding Torres’ role.
“Neither the state nor I are in a position where we can discuss any type of agreement, or what we’re going to do with the case other than just further our investigations and come back and talk some more later,” he said.

ETA: I'm really uncertain about AT's motivation to cooperate and/or seek a plea agreement. She's been in jail since January and hasn't budged as far as I can tell! MOO

YOU ARE CORRECT !!! ugh sick bunch of lowlifes , honestly I don't know which would have been worse being raised by that family or being deceased ....I'm leaning toward the poor child is in a better place and I'm not religious ...now how's that for horrifying , sweet baby didn't have a chance ...AT ALL.

By far this child is in a better place! I am so saddened by the way some of our sweet babies are being raised and these poor kids think this is how life is for everyone! Baby King Jay never had a chance.

Inside the 227th Criminal District Court on Monday, the welcome was not warm by defendants Angie Torres and her grandmother, Beatrice Sampayo. Torres gave the media a profane gesture while Sampayo was wheeled away as she covered her face with a shawl.
It will be a bit longer before both learn their fate as their attorneys reset their trials while they wait on a key player, Christopher Davila.

Now I'm confused - it sounds like they (Torres & Sampano) were supposed to go to trial on 10/21 - well according to this article - if I'm reading it right.... And Chris' is supposed to start today??

Christopher Davila's trial delayed until February
Christopher Davila was in court Tuesday as the trial for the man accused of killing 8-month-old baby King Jay Davila was expected to start. The judge, however, announced a delay in the trial until February 2020.
Davila's attorney Robert Behrens is hoping to reach a deal with prosecutors before the trail.
"He is prepared to take an offer if he thinks it's reasonable and so far we don't have a solid offer, so once we get one we can start working on it," Behrens said.
