The active search for 25 year old Kolby William Kuhlanek will begin Sunday, October 21, at 10:00AM. We will be in need of searchers on foot and ATV. The Search Command Center will be located at 8633 Village Slough, Lumberton, TX 77657. Please dress appropriately for the forecast weather conditions, very thick, brushy terrain, insects, snakes, etc. Please bring insect repellent, water and snacks. 10/20/18. Kolby was last seen October 14, 2018. His car was found abandoned Thursday, 10/ 18/ 18. He was wearing black shorts and a black shirt and has a sleeve on his left arm. Body of missing Lumberton man found

At approximately 2:00 p.m. today, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of Kolby William Kulhanek, 24 of Lumberton.

He had been reported missing for a week.

A helicopter crew from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Division spotted the body near a dirt pit in the 9400 block of Cooks Lake Rd in Lumberton.

Body of Lumberton man to be removed from grave, reexamined by Hardin County investigators Tuesday

The remains of Kolby William Kulhanek will be removed on Tuesday, November 1. The exhumation order was signed by Hardin County Judge Early Stover.

The remains of a Lumberton man who died in 2018 are scheduled to be removed from his grave on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, four years after his death.

The medical examiner ruled his death an accidental drowning, but there was no water found in his lungs or sinus cavities.

Now four years after his death, officials will perform a new autopsy on Kolby Kulhanek's body.

The autopsy overlooked another crucial detail, according to Dr. Pustilnik.

"Very prominently visible is a regular almost perfectly round defect in the bone having the classic appearance of a gunshot defect," the report says.

LE seems very tight lipped. They might have some leads IMO. I’m not local but have been to that area. Drugs are rampant. Poverty as well.
