The cold case was reopened in 2016:

"Investigators are taking another look at the 1993 murder of a Texas woman and the disappearance of a man and his 9-year-old son who were staying with the victim.

Latricia White, 38, was found shot to death on Dec. 27, 1993 in her home in McMahan in Caldwell County.

Lee Wackerhagen and his son Chance, 9, who had been staying with her during the holidays, were missing and have never been found.

Investigators say they now have evidence that Wackerhagen and his son were also victims of foul play.'
“Investigators found nothing in the home appeared to be missing and believe that this murder was most likely a crime of passion committed by someone closely associated to one or more of the victims,” the Department of Public Safety said Wednesday.

Kingsville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of as much as $5,000 for information about the whereabouts of the missing boy, who was living in Kingsville at the time of his disappearance.
