HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a missing woman.

Laura Rodriguez Trejo, 57, went missing after midnight on Sept. 24, according to a release from the Harlingen Police Department.

She was last seen at Garcia’s Lounge, located at the 500 block of N. Commerce St.
Anyone with information regarding Trejo is asked to contact the Harlingen Investigator Bonilla at (956) 216-5439 or Harlingen Crime Stoppers at (956) 425-TIPS (8477).

She was at a friend's house and they decided to go to Garcia's Lounge. Later that night she sent a text to her daughter, asking the daughter to pick her up.

When her daughter arrived to pick her up, she said that she decided to stay longer and that she would go back to her friend's house for the night.

The next day, Sept 25, the daughter phoned the female friend her mother was supposed to be with, but her mother wasn't there. The friend said that her mother had stayed at the bar.

When her mother still hadn't shown up or contacted family by Tuesday, the daughter filed a missing report with the Harlingen PD. The PD started working on it immediately, and have been looking for surveillance video in the area of Garcia's Lounge.

The daughter says her mother is normally active on social media, but hasn't posted since she has been missing.

The family says tattoos they saw on the body match the ones on Trejo. They say they want police to get to the bottom of what happened to her the night she was last seen.

"It's not fair. If anything did happen to my mom, she didn't deserve it. She was a loving person," Trejo's daughter, Yvonne Rodriguez Escobedo said. "She's still supposed to be here, she's not supposed to be gone, but I know she is resting and at ease."
