Found Deceased TX - Leanne Bearden, 33, Garden Ridge, 17 Jan 2014 #11

I was thinking the same thing....the first time a history of depression was confirmed by the family. At least to my knowledge.

To be fair, I have a history of depression and if I went missing, my family would probably keep that private because if I returned they wouldn't want it to ruin job prospects and such due to the field I'm in.

I agree - a person's medical history is personal and should remain that way if he/she does not want it exposed. I think the family may have made this statement as a way to address the questions they may have gotten but mostly as AABurns stated so thoughtfully - to acknowledge and honor her battle.

A relative recently posted that Leanne is no longer suffering or in pain so it must have been a tough road. The stigma of depression and many other neurological issues is such that people can't freely discuss it like the would other health issues. This isolates them further from the support they deserve.

I wish you continued strength PinkRuby!!

I see. Thank you cluciano for explaining.

It depends if they plan to bury the urn...in cold states, you have to wait until the ground is not frozen. My sister died in February, but we could not bury the urn until June...the mortuary kept possession until then. JMO

I had wondered if they might cremate her and spread her ashes in one of the countries she visited and really loved. jmo

Since it appears that her ashes will be interred at the cemetery in Roswell, it's probably her parents' wishes that they have a place they can go and visit her. But perhaps Josh will be given some of her ashes to do with as he desires.

(I've done this with beloved dogs that have passed. Their ashes are at their favorite beaches on the Oregon and Washington coasts.)

I agree that Josh will probably keep some of Leanne's ashes. When my mil died her ashes were placed in a space in an outdoor wall at a cemetery, but her husband and children each received a little container of ashes. My stepmother and I split my Dad's ashes.

I think it's really nice that Leanne will be near her parents. That must mean a lot to them. She was their baby.

I can't believe there have been no new posts or news re:Leanne. Did I miss something like a moratorium on posts? ty

It's called quiet resignation ... alas ...

I use my sadness about Leanne as a reminder of how tenuous life's circumstances can be, and how we need to look out for each other ...

There was a FB page set up for justice, I think someone mentioned it upthread. It was heinous how people were questioning everything JB said and did, just really awful to read. In any event, yesterday they posted screenshots of a conversation with JB regarding their accusations. Not sure if I can post it on here or not (probably not) because it's already been removed, but the page is now a "memorial" page.

So, are you saying they have changed from throwing accusations into now a memorial page as a result of his response to their accusations? I'm surprised. Most folks get tunnel vision and can't be swayed from their original position easily.

I doubt they were won over by Josh's response. I would imagine someone reported the page to FB and they had to change it. I didn't see that page, but I expect Josh could have threatened to sue them or FB for slander if he'd been so inclined.

Yes, it went from being a justice page to a memorial page. It still has "justice" in its title though, because FB needs to be the one to change it I guess.

JB reached out, the admin posted screenshots of their convo. Or at least part of it. Some details were pretty revealing, but I don't think they can be discussed here because 1)they have since been deleted and 2) it's not MSM or anything official. Don't want to step on any toes.

The admin asked JB to become an admin as well, because he's starting a foundation for suicide awareness.

They have taken down almost all posts on the page. People are still asking questions and getting promptly deleted.

I don't know, we were posting stuff Josh said on FB during the search - we just had to recognize that this is considered rumor. What was the gist?

I saw that too, but they were disappearing as I read them. A pretty low act I thought. She really ought to pull the page as it serves no purpose now anyway.

ETA: The page has been yanked.

The gist was that Leanne had been suicidal in the past, that part of it was revealing to me because nothing like that was mentioned while she was missing and may have been helpful to know.

I just checked and the open one is still up.

Mods, please delete if necessary. He did say that the autopsy revealed she died within 30 minutes of leaving the house.

This is rumor. JMO, IMHO, etc.
