I wish they would say more about the box. Was it a cardboard box? Was his car on top of it, making it hard to access the contents, so even had he wanted to he wouldn't see what was in it?
I wonder why he was on the shoulder to begin with, unless he hit the box on the road and when he drove off the shoulder to figure out what happened, the box got caught under the car and was dragged beneath it. Was his car close enough to the road that it would be very likely he would be hit getting out?
