this is nuts. He's been an online cult-favorite rapper for over a decade, and I think everyone knew something was going to happen (he was openly a drug addict and I've seen mention of mental illness? Unsure if that was real or speculation.) buuuut not this.

The people who run his official youtube account uploaded a video to announce this in his usual style, in the comments they mentioned they were opting to de-monetize the videos and are looking into how to donate the rest of the channel's ad revenue to the victim.

Ironically, his last release was uploaded the day of his arrest, named "My Life My Rules My Year On Tha Horizon (2024)"

A Texas man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a woman who claims she has been held captive in his garage for about four or five years, according to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE.

Lee Carter, 52, was arrested on Thursday, nearly nine months after police responded to a Houston, Texas home after the victim contacted 911, according to Harris County court records.

Court documents state that on April 7, 2023, Carter gave the woman access to his laptop, at which point she used a Text Now app on his device to contact 911 dispatch and relay that she was being held against her will. The responding officer observed the woman in Carter's garage was 5'2", extremely malnourished ("weighing approximately 70 pounds") and told him she had not showered in two months. When the garage was pried open by members of Houston Fire Department, authorities discovered a mattress covered in "fresh vomit," bags of chips and Twinkies, a "makeshift toilet" and dripping faucet. The woman's hair was "crusty," according to documents, and her clothes were "filthy dirty." A stack of shirts and diapers was found in the vicinity. She told officers that she pleaded with Carter daily to release her from captivity, and subsisted largely on snacks, never getting a full meal.

"At one point, maybe a year ago now, the cops come banging on my door claiming somebody had called from inside the house and was kidnapped or not able to leave on her own," neighbor Jedediah Beights said.

"Right then, as the cops are standing at my door, a gal comes crawling out that window just there, just clawing her way out, pregnant, eight months."

The accusations against him are so concerning that a judge cleared the room before reading aloud court documents and setting his bond at $100,000.

Carter is accused of picking up a pregnant woman while she was panhandling in south Houston and then bringing her to his house.

The woman told police Carter locked her up, raped her, and forced her to take drugs, including crack cocaine, for years.

Lee Carter, 52 — also known as Viper — was formally charged Thursday after Houston police responded to his home last year on a report of a kidnapping, according to a complaint obtained by HuffPost. There, officers found the woman, who told them that she had been trapped inside, the document said.

The woman told police that she was abducted about four or five years prior while pregnant and panhandling on the street.
According to the complaint, Carter had approached the woman to give her $1 and later returned to ask if she needed help, before telling her to get in his car. The woman told officers that she was “vulnerable” and, “against her better judgement,” got into his vehicle to leave with him.

When the woman arrived at Carter’s home, she was allegedly locked inside his garage. After that point, Carter repeatedly forced her to do drugs and have sex with him, only feeding her “chips and snacks,” police said.

In one instance, the woman said that she tried to escape when fire department and police personnel arrived at Carter’s home. The woman recalled breaking a window in the garage and crawling out, but “she ended up getting taken to the hospital, where [Carter] ... picked her up” to take her back to his residence, the complaint said.

It’s unclear whether the woman gave birth and, if so, what happened to the baby.
Texas Rapper Accused Of Abducting Pregnant Woman, Locking Her In Garage For Years

um, a lot to unpack here. First and foremost, what happened to the baby??!!

Records do not explain why it took authorities nearly nine months to arrest the suspect. The condition of the woman, who prosecutors say was 70 pounds and pregnant when authorities located her, was unclear Monday.
[snip]
The woman was pregnant when Carter picked her up, according to the complaint.
[snip]
Defense attorney George Powell said the woman is actually Carter's domestic partner.

"It's a romantic relationship," Powell told NBC News on Monday. "The complaining witness and him have been together for years and they have a child together."
[snip]
Prosecutors had asked for a $500,000 bond before a magistrate set it at $100,000, according to the DA's office, which declined to comment on the court's ruling.
Houston rapper accused of holding a homeless woman captive for at least 4 years

So this woman was pregnant 4 or 5 years ago when he first picked her up - no mention of what happened to the child from that pregnancy.

Then a neighbor/witness reports that a year ago she escapes through a boarded up window in the garage and was around 8 months pregnant at that time (child #2?)

Was reported to have been pregnant at the time they located her in April 2023 (child #3? and the one defense attorney claims his client shares with her? Impregnated with her captor's child does not constitute a domestic relationship you horrible human of a defense attorney)

WHERE ARE THE BABIES THAT WOULD HAVE RESULTED FROM PREGNANCY 1 and 2???!! What on earth has this man been up to? Bragged to neighbors he had women in houses all over? Captive as this one was? Neighbors "assumed" LE were investigating. Good lord!

His defense attorney has a real sense of humour...
he thinks she wanted to be locked in a garage with a vomit-soaked mattress being r*ped by THIS fool!

It is not clear what happened with the woman’s pregnancy or whether she gave birth. There was no mention of a child in the court documents.

After the April incident, police, who confirmed receiving eight calls to the house in the past year, took her to the hospital but Mr Carter picked her up and took her back home.

“It makes me sick as a human being,” Houston Police Department Commander Michael Collins told KTRK when Mr Carter was arrested.

“And I can tell you, as a police department, we are here for the citizens of Houston. We are here for the community, and we are here to make sure that this individual and her family gets justice.”

Oh yeah, way to go HPD. Excellent job on this case and on Rudy's case. Doin the lords work out here obviously... My opinion...

I'm still confused about the timeline, regarding the victim and how long it took until she was rescued and/or the perp was arrested? Will wait until more and comprehensive news accounts come out before I start making judgments.

I never kept up with Viper (there's a fine line in outsider art, between "watching a weirdo with interest" and "throwing peanuts at a mentally unwell person" and I never knew where to approach the line and didn't feel good about it either way, plus I just plain didn't like his music) but he was prone to bizarre and grandiose boasts. I wouldn't be surprised if he even admitted to this crime in one of his tracks, he was releasing albums at a blistering rate and most of them were consisting of remixes (if that) of tracks he'd already released before.

The body of Catherine Roberts, 61, was recovered July 5 from the Perry Street home where suspect Lee Arthur Carter, 52, allegedly imprisoned a woman, Houston police and Harris County medical examiner’s representatives told NBC News.

Roberts had been living in the converted garage where authorities say the pregnant woman had been held, neighbor Jedediah Beights said.
[snip]
As far as Houston police are concerned, Roberts' death has nothing to do with the ongoing kidnapping probe and Carter is not being investigated in the summertime death.

boy that garage has seen some tragedy.

A second woman came forward and said she was also held against her will and sexually assaulted by Lee Carter.

The woman told police that Carter kidnapped her and sexually assaulted her in July 2021. No other details were released.
