TX TX - Lina Sardar Khil Last Seen On Playground At Apartment Complex - San Antonio, Dec 2021 #3

  • #201
Just learned about the case. First thought that immediately came to mind was that another refugee in the same area is responsible (JMO). Similar cases in Europe have occurred with this specific refugee population. Also, quite easy to draw a 3 year old girl (who doesn't speak English) away when you already know her language.

Pure speculation ofc. I could of course be very, very wrong. It's just a strong hunch though.
I tend to think this is quite likely. Monsters among us.....
I would not be surprised if it was someone she knew...

Her age has been discussed at length.
Yes, she was three and turned four a few weeks after her disappearance.
She was tall for her age.

SAN ANTONIO — A national nonprofit is offering assistance with a local missing child case. However, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is only accepting limited help.

t’s been nearly three years since Lina Sardar Khil disappeared from a playground at her apartment complex in the 9400 block of Fredericksburg Road.

*****
“What is just very daunting is looking at the fact that a national agency is asking to be involved in this case and that SAPD is shutting them down … and therefore not allowing the family to use their voice in this case,” Allen said.

NCMEC’s “Team Adam” is made up of retired law enforcement professionals with local, state and national experience. The group works with law enforcement departments on missing person cases to help vet leads, recommend investigation strategies, and offer equipment and resources.

*****
SAPD denied assistance from Team Adam early on. A spokesperson for the department told KENS 5 they do not share sensitive information about any active missing person case with outside organizations and groups. This policy is meant to protect the integrity of their investigations, SAPD says.

I cannot believe it had been 3 years. I also feel like perhaps they should be more open to this opportunity.
*My opinion.

On Friday, December 20th, the family of Lina Sardar Khil and the community will gather to remember the 3-year-old who disappeared three years ago.

This month, I am reflecting on some of San Antonio's missing persons cases I have investigated after the headlines faded away.

Tonight, I take a closer look at the ups and downs in this year's search for the Afghan child.

We also asked whether investigators reviewed sketches made by Lois Gibson, a renowned sketch artist with the Houston Police Department.

Gibson’s sketches were based on a witness who says they saw two men with Lina the afternoon she disappeared.

"This person said, ‘I knew it was her because she was beautiful and dressed all in red.’ Lina was wearing red with a black coat the day she disappeared. The witness provided details to the sketch artist about the men."

Fox SA provided those sketches last year to the police. One man was described as an African, the other as Afghan. Lina’s father recognized the Afghan man but didn’t believe he was involved.

One of the more haunting cases here at WS, one minute she was playing on the playground. The next Lina vanished in thin air. I so want answers for her family :(

Riaz Sardar Khil has been overwhelmed by frustration and heartbreak as he continues his fight to find his daughter.

With the aid of a translator, he emphasized his lack of faith in law enforcement, specifically the San Antonio Police Department when it comes to providing updates on the investigation.

I so want to stay hopeful that Lina is alive and will be found someday. But there's a $250k reward, it's been three years, and this is what SAPD had to say (from the link):

After nearly three years investigating the disappearance of Lina Khil, the San Antonio Police Department remains committed to following-up on and investigating every lead that we receive. SAPD continues to use all tools available, including working with our partners at the FBI to investigate all leads. SAPD would like to take this opportunity to ask anyone with information on Lina’s disappearance and/or whereabouts to please call police.

My heart breaks for this family. :(

There will be a gathering to observe the third year of Lina's disappearance at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 20 at the American Muslim Community Center at 4139 Gardendale Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229. Pamela Allen, the founder of Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach and advocate for Lina's family, wrote in a Facebook post that the family will be in attendance.

I live not too far from here. There were a few sketchy young men who hung out apartment complex. Many were unsupervised teens mixed with young adults. And the ethnicities of the two men were entirely possible.

Of course, it's entirely possible that a resident could have been bluffing and wanted to blame the immigrant community. (Because I saw alot of residents on SM with general complaints about "immigrants at the apartments" etc) I hope LE vetted the tip before releasing the sketch.

I believe awhile back they were looking at someone Riaz recognized/knew. His response was similar. (I think many of the the Afghans in the complex are related to each other somehow) The actual sketch is a new clue however.

Her father, Riaz Sardar Khil, spoke at a ceremony on the third anniversary of her disappearance.

"So far we are not provided with information that can get us to finding Lina," he said through a translator.

"Why doesn't anyone ask about her anymore? We need to find her. She has a family waiting for her," a community member said.

Bumping for Lina. You are not forgotten baby girl.

Oh dear Lina. Please let your light guide someone to where you are so your family’s mind can be put to rest. I can’t imagine the pain of not knowing where your child is. I will pray for you always Lina. Never forgotten

My hopeful fantasy, is that a woman who may have lost a child that age, or cannot have children, scooped her up under a long dark cloak, and kept the lovely Lina as her own child.

I sure hope she finds her way home someday.

Another option: a family needed to quickly “replace” a child that died. This was December 2021 and some people didn’t actually see friends/family from March 2020 onward. Any differences between the deceased child and Lina could simply be explained by the passage of time. I believe there was some discussion here a few years ago about how she could easily “pass” for a variety of ethnicities as well. JMO.
