In a Monday news conference, Pamela Allen, an advocate for the family, said that there were several details that police had not told them in the years following Lina’s disappearance.

One example was a social media comment made a year after Lina’s disappearance that pointed to more evidence that the family had not been told about, Allen said.

The person who commented claimed they had told San Antonio police they had seen Lina walk hand-in-hand with a man who was not her father the day she disappeared.

If credible, the chances of the child being alive are all the more slimmer. Sadly, I speculate the child, either wandered off in perished, yet to be found. Or, she was snatched up by an evil doer, and had passed over within 24 hours of being abducted. If she were abducted, the likelihood is that she ended up in a trash receptacle, never to be found.

These are very grim speculations, but I think they are very realistic. Amateur opinion, and speculation only.

A year later that information came forward, was afraid to come forward.

Had a meeting with LE and family in 2/14/2024. Heated.

Revealed only Afghani-owned apartments were searched. White owned apartments weren't searched -- because "they know you need warrants"

Am I understanding this? A witness saw someone walking away with Lina, by hand.

An individual's whose apartment WASN'T searched happens to be on the U.S. most wanted list for trafficking????? Where is this person now?????

Like I said, I need to re-listen to this.

Is LE so tight lipped (not even communicating with family?) because... why? Active investigation?

MOO Could it be because they don't want to jeopardize an investigation? An arrest/trial/conviction? Or could they be waiting for a time to recover Lina safely???? I think any that father who had kidnapped his children, living as a fugitive in the outback
for years, waiting for a safe time to recover them, which they ultimately did.

Too much pressure, publicity and risk Lina being disappeared altogether?

After all this time, is this the rare case of trafficking after all?

MOO one thing i have learned from following WS threads is that often when there's a breakdown in communication between LE and victims' families, it's because there's an active investigation and LE is locked down hard against leaks. Even with families.

Then in this case, there might be additional language and cultural challenges ... but that's not acceptable IMO. Then LE should context them regularly to say, we haven't forgotten about you, we're working behind the scenes, we'll say more when we can.

Has anyone else watched this presser? Did you get the impression that the mystery person seen walking with Lina (witness worked with sketch artists to produce a sketch) is the same individual who lived in an unsearched apartment (and shed that's part of the apartment?) (can we deduce that the individual is white? refused a search without there being a warrant?) and is also one of America's most wanted fugitives FOR TRAFFICKING?????

This changes everything, doesn't it?

MOO A fugitive who would have become aware of Lina -- Afghani children -- would have made more of the system of adults watching the children -- waited for or created an opportunity -- and snatched Lina the second no one was looking. "Here, let me help you find your mommy" or somesuch ploy?

I feel sick.

On the one hand, it means she could be alive. In the other hand, it means the last four years -- my mind doesn't want to imagine when hell of hell she's been through...

MOO perhaps a seasoned trafficker believed that no one would miss a child refugee...

Think again, Trafficker.

My heart breaks anew for her family. Escaping a war-torn country only to have this happen to them in the country where they sought refuge...

So unfair.

It makes me sick to think this but maybe they didn't go after the known trafficker then because he was the focus of a much bigger international trafficking investigation? That's the only reason i can think of,, horrible as it is, why they didn't investigate him right away!
