Very interesting lead. No one had yet found anything on this address although I thought the SS investigator had spoken to someone who was at the property during that period. The obit is interesting for a couple reasons. First , the reference to Mission Aviation Fellowship. FLEX had an interest in a form of aviation. Second, there is a daughter that supposedly predeceased her. If someone disappears, they can be "declared" deceased after a certain period of time. So, statements like that don't mean anything to me unless I see more evidence of their demise. Like a gravestone, etc.. I think it's worth looking further, but I do t have ancestry.com.

Jumping off of these, I could not find an obituary for a Janice Barker from Idaho by doing a google search. I went to the clerk of courts website to see of there was ever a declaration of death for a misssing J. Barker but they don't seem to have online court access. I think the only way to rule this one out is if someone can access something on ancestry.com, which I don't have access to, or by someone following through with the clerk of courts. I'd rather rule it out on ancestry I'd we can before taking it any further. Can anyone do this?

The obit said she traveled extensively, but where did you come up with the Thailand connection?

When I had looked through one of the family member's social media accounts, they had quite a few friends from Thailand.

Found it. Janice passed away very young.

Slight tangent: I don't remember the photo of the statue off-hand, but this reminds me of something that may or may not be relevant. I once worked on an illustration project for a prominent Texas periodical. Within the image I placed the standard, ever-symbolic cactus (the tall, tree-like sort with limbs stretched out and up). The art director got back to me and told me to change the cactus to something native to Texas like the prickly pear, so I did. A Yankee like me had no idea that cactuses were location-specific.

Now, it could mean that she just liked that statue, or she was a Yankee too and just thought cactus was cactus, but maybe it's something she picked up when (if! :) ) she lived in AZ.

Its interesting you mentioned this, because that is why I also brought up the picture of the doorway with the statue of the cactus they have in one of the other threads that has pictures. The cactus statue is definitely the type that I also thought mainly grew in Arizona because it was exactly like you mentioned and had like arms going out to the side. It is a very tall life-like statue of a cactus. I think they were using it as a coat rack.

I seemed to remember those types of cactus are primarily in AZ too.

Now I'm wondering if Janice could have been another 'identity'.

Okay, but IF the 'B' family had anything to do with her re-identification, don't you think they would have been tempted to consider using their very young daughter as a source for identity? I think that there are valid arguments for, and against, this possibility.

I thought these people were from Idaha and am surprised to see that the child, Janice B. died in Washington State. Any chance we can find what cemetery she was buried at? Wasn't it a cemetery in Washington State that the real BST was buried at? And, if I remember right, didn't someone on one of these threads say that that cemetery (I think it is Woodbine? has a children's section?

Not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but Becky Sue Turner's grave is in Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, WA. More specifically, the grave is in an area of the cemetery called "Baby Land". So FLEK wouldn't even have to go through the whole cemetery, just go straight to "Baby Land" and write down the names of children that could be possible. Also, since the Turner child grave has the same year of death - 1971 - for all three children, FLEK would have assumed that they had died in some incident - which would improve the odds that she would be able to find a news article with further information.

So wherever FLEK was from originally, we know that she must have been in Puyallup, Washington for at least a few days at some point probably in 1988. But what brought her to Puyallup instead of another place?

So, here's my point, maybe someone in that family or a friend of the family, visited J. Barker's gravesite and noticed BST's or something along those lines. I think it's just worth checking out where J. Barker was buried. After all FLEK used that family's address in Idaho?

Is this just a strange coincidence? I did a quick search on the Barkers that were living at that address. It looks like there was both a Glenn Sr. and a Glenn Jr. In 1959, Glenn Sr. and his wife were living in Boise, Id and Glenn Jr. and his wife were living in Coulee Dam, ID. They had a daughter, named Janice, that was born in 1954 and died in 1959. At the time of her death, they had two other daughters - Nancy and Becky. It looks like Glenn Jr. and his wife were married in 1950, so Becky would have been born sometime between 1950 and 1959. Here is the announcement for Janice's memorial service. http://str.stparchive.com/Archive/ST...2191959P05.php

The records department said that Glenn Jr. and his wife owned the house starting in 1969. I assume they moved from Coulee Dam to Boise at that time.

It looks like that Becky is not missing, but maybe "Lori" knew the family history and used it as part of her inspiration for creating her new life.

I can't seem to find a grave for this child. Just want to find out if she was buried in Woodbine.

I like where this is going! What if FLEK did use the Barker ID first, and by doing that learned how the process works.. Then also created the ID we know about!! Someone should research that persons name to see if a social was assigned to the name and if the name was changed!!!!

I guess this is a possibility as well; I was just looking at how someone would have gotten to BST's gravesite to get HER name and trying to make a connection to the Idaho address. That's why I'm interested to see where Janice B. is buried. Still wondering if it's the same cemetery. But you also raise a very good possibility. She could have started with a Barker ID and was afraid it would catch up with her if she had a direct connection to them, so she went a step further and changed it again. If she did this, the Barkers could be totally unaware of this. I doubt Velling is aware that the Barkers also had a young child that died. I think he talked to them if I remember correctly? But I doubt that would have come up. Maybe this is something that can be brought to his attention so he can check out whether that child was used to apply for an SSN. What do you think?

I think Janice B.'s birthdate is april 15, 1954. I'll double check the obit.

Edit. Yep. That's it.
