There is a story and a current pic of the woman in Texas in Daily Mail. You can just google it if interested.

has anyone brought up the powered parachute certificate from 1996? she would have taken classes from buckeye powered parachute, whoch was located in illinois at the time and went out of business in 2008.

There is one thing that bothered me. FLEK and Blake did not seem " adventurous" as a couple. The family mentioned no honeymoons or trips or vacations. WHY did Lori insist on a second wedding in VEGAS?? With the PO box very close to there it has always bothered me that there was a reason she wanted to go back there. I am betting Vegas ( or surrounding areas) was a big deal to her for some reason.

I think FLEK was more adventurous than Blake in her younger years. She pulled off a brazen act of stealing a 2 year old's identity, changed her name, got a GED, and graduated college. From the point of that first stolen identity her life was pretty adventurous including being a 'dancer'. She wanted Blake and adapted to his lifestyle of a quiet life, IMO.

I have ever evolving opinions regarding FLEK. In the pic with her hair in a ponytail with wispy, fly-away hair, she appears to be so innocent looking yet she had just started on her 'adventure'. Then the pics evolve into looking less innocent and just happy to have gotten away with her fraud.

She died alone by her own hand and I'd felt a modicum of sympathy for her. I vacillate between sympathy and anger that she did this to an innocent man, his family, and her little daughter.

I think that second wedding in Las Vegas was so that some anonymous person staying in the background and out of sight could attend the wedding. I believe the area meant something to her as well.

It does seem that she quieted down quite a bit after marrying Blake.
Is the parachute school really a defunct Illinois operation? For some reason I had always thought it was Dallas based. No idea why I thought that.
I'd like to know if they vacationed anywhere other than Vegas? Some of the most boring people I know take an annual trip to Vegas, nowhere else. They eat at the same buffet & see the same show & stay in the same timeshare. It's all they care to do. Maybe the Ruffs enjoyed that lifestyle? It would be interesting to know where they stayed & what the trip to re-marry consisted of.

It looks like there are schools around the country that insruct using the Illinois based brand of powered parachute. This is just one that came up in Google.

Correct me if I am wrong, but is Bakersfield not 'close' to Vegas? And doesn't/didn't TT have step and half siblings around there?

LEK almost certainly did NOT take the class in Illinois.

The "Buckeye Pilot" certificate has an "instructor" signature that's hard to make out. However, a list of certified powered parachute instructors in Texas reveals a likely match -- namely one Richard D. English, in Princeton, Texas. As it happens, Princeton, Texas is just North of Dallas, and is the location of Future Flight, LLC, which offers powered parachute instruction. One picture on their website (of a sign in front of their building) even mentions the word "Buckeye" explicitly, and an email address on their contact page is almost certainly the "David English" that is also listed as a certified powered parachute instructor in Princeton, TX, with the same phone number as Richard.

The witness name on the certificate is hard to make out, but I believe the consensus (from an earlier discussion) was that it was likely "Christine Shaver", who is easily searchable and has a number of addresses in the area.

In any case, it seems likely that this is the location where LEK received her powered parachute instruction. And that is the entire sum of my knowledge about the Buckeye Pilot certificate.

Bakersfield is pretty close to Vegas, 4-5 hours driving time.

Stacie and Susan have been missing since March 1988.

Susan could definitely be LEK. Even her younger non age progressed pic looks like LEK when she was younger. Great Find!

Another article about the missing Indiana woman who was discovered in Texas. Considering the daughter's reaction to discovering her mother was alive, I'm leaning more and more to this being the news we've all been waiting for. It makes sense that he family needed time to process.
http://www.people.com/article/missing-indiana-woman-1974-daughter-speaks

But the leaked information was clear - they had ID'd an 18 year old runaway from Pennsylvania. This woman was 28 and from Indiana.

I'm still hoping Derek A will come good, an interim statement would be useful even if it was a denial.

Not sure if this is helpful or not...thought would post because of the Illinois connection.

As of this writing I have passed my FAA written knowledge test for CFI, (certified flight instructor) for the sport pilot rating for powered parachutes, and I have now taken my check flights in Greenville, IL with Roy Beisswenger of Easy Flight, Inc., one of 3 Sport Flight Instructor Examiners certified to endorse sport pilot CFI's. I passed my oral examinations as well as the flight test, and now have my Sport Pilot rating for powered parachutes and my CFI rating, which will allow me to train new sport pilots under the new rule.

All righty then, who is brave enough to contact these two??? Ya think Veiling did?

Just looking around Ancestry and this may of been posted b4 but can't hurt to share
Found Lori E Kennedy - first page says residence Irving Texas 1989 and next page shows
Name: Lori E Kennedy
Birth Date: Jul 1969
Phone Number: 355-0747
Address: 1111 W Airportfy 147, Irving, TX, 75062
[200 Bear Creek Dr Apt 219, Euless, TX, 76039-2060 (1995)]
[PO Box 543344 # 219, Dallas, TX, 75354-3344]
[3901 Oakridge CT Apt 3815, Fort Worth, TX, 76155-4845 (1993)]
[PO Box 810, Euless, TX, 76039-0810 (1995)]

Just bringing this post from Feb forward as it links to BigCA's post above.

I'm not at all familiar with these systems, but are basically saying a Lori Kennedy lived at the same address as a "Terry" Turner? Are there dates for when they both lived there? Albeit in different apartments. Could it just be coincidence with Turner being a fairly common name?

Another thought.. Either the information request was not fully honored or Velling did not investigate or interview much. When I was an agent , to my great annoyance, I had to write a written memo to the case file for EVERYTHING. If I drove by a house that was part of the case I had to make a memo. If I intervie need anyone... Memo. If I took a call or got a lead... Memo. If I had a dream about it... Well I am sure they wanted a memo, haha.. What I am getting at is there are HUGE gaps of information I that release. There would be notes on the Idaho ID, on the interview of the family in Idaho, on the PO box in Nevada, on the boyfriend. I see NONE of that an honestly those would be very informative. Any ideas ?
