OT: Is anyone else having trouble posting or viewing the forum tonight? I keep getting errors and kicked off. Are there that many more people here to see who FLEK was or something...argh! :gaah:I feel like I'm in:jail: I can't post...

It seems to be a bit glitchy through Tapatalk for me today

Yes. It's like the WS server is overwhelmed.

I honestly don't think Akoya ID d Lori, I think Sprin/Summer did. I think Akoya is an advocate from oz that claimed to have ID Grateful Dead fan that's no longer on WS. A few of. Think we're right cause she talks exactly like the person we know. She'll be shocked when it turns out spring/summers exGF. The timing is right. My March DNA came back over night. Velling had to find the person and person to donate DNA. Spring/Summer sounded very sure so that's what I'm going with.

Nance did nothing wrong. He cnfirmed the profile was pulled but LE have to announce.

I don't know the person you are referring to, so I can't chime in there, but I was thinking Akoya WAS Spring/Summer. Just as protective and saw some sentence structure and punctuation similarities. And poster Linda mentioned an Asian wife.

So, I just had a major thought...which could be totally wrong, but it's still a thought.

What if NAMUS was informed of the identification through the Seattle Times? The agent clearly knew a story was happening and it has seemed that the family has chosen to back away from the case.

I'm just curious if the family has known for a while or if this is a new development.

I wonder the same things. I get the impression that she has been identified for at least a couple of weeks. If not, then the Seattle times is really quick at getting updates on LEK lol. I also wonder how long it is going to take for the journalist to finalize the article. I guess that depends on how much info is going to be released.

Wouldn't an identification have to come from an official agency? If not, what would stop a random person from calling them up?

I also worry that the family may know and this was leaked by a young member who doesn't understand the desire of the family to keep it quiet. I would hate for that to be how we learn of this.

I thought I read that it doesn't require a formal ID, but NAMUS can take it down once they feel it has been solved. But it's been a long day and I don't think I know how any of this works anymore.

I also want to throw out there that the 'unknown love child' angle re: Turners or Howders is NOT AT ALL far fetched as was mentioned earlier.

Example: If you would have asked ANYONE in my close knit family or ANYONE who knew us well or even hardly at all, NO ONE could have fathomed what I learned last year at the age of 45: That my father is not an only child but I have an aunt that was an 'unknown love child'. 2 people kept this secret to themselves for 72 years. It is not far-fetched. HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.

Totally agree. I guess I'll just be sitting on pins and needles until the article or an official statement gets published. Hoping it's sooner rather than later. Goodnight everyone :)

Yeah, my family originated in Appalachia and we had all kinds of poor family planning like that going on.

Ok guys I confess, I am the total newb who put up the photo with the young girl (as you know). This photo apparently came from websleuths, and I thought that is who you were all talking about. I've only been following this case for a few days, so you should probably ignore my comments and not go down the Howder rabbit hole.

That being said, surely the person who found that photo is on here somewhere and can give us some insight, or someone can do a reverse image search of the photo? (I'm not near a computer or I'd do it myself)

Once again, sorry all for any confusion with Howden/ FLEK.

I'm not buying the friend of the niece story that Lori named herself after Blake's family members.

We don't know that this person even knows someone in the Ruff family at all. Could be a troll.

I think the Ruff family had issues with Lori and most of what they've said about her is their own skewed view based on her not fitting in.

It's unfortunate that we haven't heard from many people who knew her with something positive to say, other than S/S.

I believe S/S figured it out and likely left the comment on the grave site.

Hopefully we get to hear more about who Lori was, the good things about her.

It's easy to get caught up in attempting to solving these mysteries but we have to remind ourselves she was a real person and her Daughter will someday be able to read all of this.

Unless some major crime was committed by her or the people she ran from, I don't see why we won't find out who she was. Especially since it's been said the Seattle Times is doing a follow up story.

Oh and Gardener your pm's are full again [emoji16]

We all better get comfortable, it may be a while before we find out. If we ever do.

I can't remember exactly how long it was but it seemed like an eternity before they release Sharon Marshall's real name. Probably felt like forever because it was such a shock she had been identified.

What a great way to phrase it :) I know of at least one case in my family as well. No, wait, two. And we aren't a large family.

OMG we just learned this year that my 81 year old aunt gave birth to a child sometime after high school. The woman in her 60's contacted us. NOT A SOUL KNEW....her current husband refused to let them meet because he thought she was after their money and was a fake. Because he didn't even know she had another child. But she is the spitting image of her no DNA required. Sadly my aunt passed this week without meeting her. But it allowed us to speak with my aunt's best friend and even she never knew my aunt had another child. So secrets are hidden all around us.
