TEMPLE, TX (April 14, 2024) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a missing person case involving 92-year-old Louise W. Shumate. The investigation led to a low water crossing located in the 3200 Blk of Riverside Trail. A drone was deployed and a vehicle matching the victim’s vehicle description was located on 4/13/24 about two tenths of a mile down Pepper Creek. Officers made their way to the vehicle and confirmed it was, in fact, the victim’s vehicle. The victim was located inside of the car as the sole occupant. The vehicle had evidence of being underwater and the victim was deceased inside.
