GUILTY TX - Maleah Davis, 4, Houston, 5 May 2019 *EX-FIANCÉ ARRESTED* #12

I’m glad she had a nice service. The service is good for everyone who knew and loved her as well as those who didn’t know but still loved her.

It’s so sad to think 500 people showed up to mourn, among thousands of us who are here for her in death seeking justice, but not a single soul was able to protect her from the evil she had to face at home in her sweet short life.

And I think the choice to “speak” for her about how “happy” her life was is another delusion meant to comfort attendees but certainly not a fair portrayal of what any abused child would want to say.

I hope everyone who feels that way takes it as a reminder that we need to be the village for our children and we need to speak when we sense or worry something is off. I try to remind myself of this regularly because we detach from others so easily and disconnect in real life, only to connect via technology where it’s so easy to wear a mask. We put photos on IG and FB that we want other people to see. So when we see our family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and other acquaintances in person we must give those children our attention. The devil most often hides in plain sight.
I am so sorry he made Maleah suffer. I do think when he wasn’t around, Maleah may have been a very happy little girl. We know she was beautiful and precious. I wish we knew her from another circumstance. RIP JMO MOO
Well said! Each and every tiny coffin holding a murdered, abused child should be a wake up call that as a society we need to step up and speak out. What's the point of mourning murdered children with beautiful coffins and elegant words if we go home after and turn a blind eye to the next child in danger?

My cynical self sees the city officials getting involved in Maleah's funeral as self-serving but I appreciate the attention her death is getting nation wide because of their involvement. If only one community makes changes as a result of the publicity then we're one step closer to saving the next Maleah.

Well said also. While I agree with each and every post, there is nothing that will change this service to a happy event, but the attention to it I guess and giving her a beautiful send off (not that that helps her one bit now) hopefully brings some change or perhaps even stops someone who is walking a line.

I also see polticians getting involved, and that is on any side of the coin, as probably somewhat self serving in any case but as you so aptly said, it does bring attention to what happened and that can, I hope, only be a good thing.

Maleah's funeral was a wonderful tribute to an innocent child that died as a result of domestic violence. May she rest in Peace. The pomp and circumstance was lovely and deserving but was nothing short of an attempt to assuage the short comings of a system and community that failed her. Bitter sweet. Now... let justice be done.

That's what I thought too.

I almost would have to guess they meant the older full brother. Probably another reporting mistake as I think is the statement of the flags being flown for Brittany--it should have been Maleah--I think the mistake there comes from the congresswoman as she states they were flown for Brittany.

Reporting these days irritates me probably more than it should but mistakes are constant it seems and little to no proofreading is done. At least neither thing affects the case itself here but often mistakes do relate to the case facts. It seems we see it in every case smh.

Not sure if this is the case, just guessing, but it makes more sense than what was said.

Thank you for this post. Makes sense now. The flags were flown for Maleah, then given to BB and CD. That's acceptable.
(although IMO, TM and QX are far more deserving recipients of those flags.)

I just watched the funeral tape again and the reporter did not make a mistake, surprisingly the Congress woman said they were flown for Brittany. She mis-spoke. :(

In the video above, dancers can be seen performing a beautiful praise dance in Maleah's honor around her casket.

Another beautiful moment captured from the ceremony shows Maleahs' mother, Brittany Bowens, releasing a single dove at the burial ceremony.

Wow...sure would make a lovely movie scene...production value was A+!

Too bad Maleah didn’t have one iota the amount of love and attention in life.

Imo

Ummm at 7:545did that reporter REALLY ask if the casket was closed?!?!?!
Yup, she sure did.:(o_O:(

(The closed casket tells a tragic story about a 4-year old girl, a neglectful mother, a horrific murderer, and about a gentleman with a heart of gold who gathered up the badly decomposed and mutilated body parts of the little girl. The closed casket screams- Justice for the murdered girl.)

Yes, it was the congresswoman. Makes far more sense Maleah was meant as no one was going to give the flags to BB's mom and dad, her dad is passed.

The congresswoman also remarked on Maleah's happy life...? Did she live with them to know this? Does she know the facts?

I will leave it at that, I understand an effort at a nice service but I will leave it at that other than to say I don't think politicians who likely never knew the child need to be assuming a happy life when at least one of the people she had this happy life with is charged with tampering with evidence/her body and there already is evidence of crimes against this child committed.

Yep...well said! Now I'm gonna sit back and watch all the changes that are made as a result of the way Maleah died. CPS, Court System, Welfare System, all the 'systems' that were involved in MD's brief life.
Okay, I'm done with negativity and cynical thoughts. Prayers for our children.

Don’t hold your breath for change. IMO

Well, hopefully the results from the autopsy will be in shortly if they are not already, then I suppose reviewed along with the case and it will be decided what form of murder charges can be added.

Let's get this justice for Maleah part going.

RIP child.
