The suspect’s mother, Joanna Fischer, said she warned police about her son after he threatened to kill the whole family.

Fischer blames police inaction for the deaths.

"I want to let y’all know how the police failed us," Fischer told FOX 26.

Fischer said her son had recently been released from jail and has a history of violence against family members.

Houston police say when they walked into the apartment Kendrick Fisher, 29, was asleep on the couch and his sister, 28, and niece, 2, were dead.

Family members say Kendrick Rayvon Fisher, 29, had been staying with his 28-year-old sister, Genene, at the Knox at Westchase apartment complex.

Jail records show the suspect had gotten out of prison in December 2023 after serving a seven-year sentence for armed robbery with extra time tagged on for being caught with contraband.

According to the neighbor, Fisher had been living with his sister for a few months. He also said residents would feel uneasy around him. Not only the residents but Fisher's own family also had this feeling.

Yeah, this was on the local news here. I feel so bad for the family. Poor mom is just heart broken. Sister and her daughter were just adorable.

He will plead not guilty and the hearings will drag on forever. I feel sorry for the families who are victimized further by the long wait for justice. Death Penalty cases are even worse, the appeals go on for an eternity. LWOP, would be my choice.
