Mutilated Woman's Husband Stole Truck from Dealer: Police
Man now believed to be in a gold, 1991 two-door Ford Ranger pickup truck

Police now believe Corona to be driving a gold two-door 1991 Ford Ranger pickup truck with Texas license plate AA24004.

Following the woman's murder, investigators said Corona went to a car dealership and requested a test drive. He never returned with the vehicle.

Intitially, officers belived Corona was in a brown Toyota Sequoia with Texas license plate number 247-DVH.

Deaver said Corona has no known criminal history.

Lakeland Elementary School was placed on lockdown as a precaution while police were searching the area.

School officials said the school would dismiss on time at 3 p.m. but there would be a "heavy police presence" while the children were being picked up, spokeswoman Karen Permetti said.

Jose Fernando Corona wanted for chainsaw murder of wife Maria

A mail carrier discovered Maria's mutilated body around 11:20am on Monday and saw a trail of blood and hair leading into the house, according to a search warrant affidavit.

Moments after police arrived on the scene, one of the Corona's six children arrived with her husband. According to the affidavit, Carla Corona said her father had telephoned her moments before, confessing to the killing and saying he was going to drag the body next door.

Carla Corona tried in vain to call her mother but didn't get an answer, the warrant says. She and her husband identified her mother's remains on the street.

The coroner ruled that Maria Corona was murdered with the chainsaw. Authorities couldn't be certain until the autopsy weather she had died prior to the decapitation.

Sweet Lord. Please, keep sending prayers up for this family. No sight of this mad man yet.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner released autopsy results Wednesday that said Maria Corona was alive when she was decapitated. The cause of death was multiple chain saw injuries "due to assault by another person."

Jose Corona has no prior criminal history, Deaver said. Police, who declined to release the postal worker's 911 call, had never responded before to the home for any type of disturbance.

...and in such a horrific way. Not only do they have to deal with the pain of losing their mother but the pain of how she must have suffered also.

Hopefully he hasn't crossed the border to Mexico...they'll never catch him if does...IMHO. My prayers go out to the children...what's going on with the world now-a-days...I just don't get it.

This was just such a senseless and horrific crime. We read so of so many murders and wonder just how a human being could even think of doing something such as this. There are truly evil people in this world.

Decapitation is a favored method of murder among jihadists. There was a case recently (Michigan??) of a Muslim man who killed his wife this way. Not trying to stir up any trouble here, just wondering if there's any connection.

There was a 21 year old beheaded his mom in Jacksonville as well. Sunday. He went to Church after he took her head, left her body and then ditched her head on the street.

This man? Corona? I'm thinking he was just so infuriated over something he took his wife's head off with a chainsaw. Manner of death.

This blows me away. How gruesome can that be just to have to do that to someone not alive that you don't know? Your wife? On the street? Alive?
