Parsons, 54, was last seen at about 11:30 a.m. Dec. 1, and her last known contact with anyone local was around 4 p.m., when she called a neighbor. Lt. James Saulter, sheriff’s office spokesman, said the woman’s home didn’t show any signs of plans to leave — all of her clothes and accessories were found there, as well as her personal hygiene items. All that wasn’t accounted for was her purse.

From Ellis County Sheriff's Office Missing Person Alert:

On 12/1/2010 she went to the IHOP in Ennis with a neighbor at 9:28 a.m. The two remained at the restaurant until 10:05 a.m. They left the restaurant and returned to the neighbor’s home where she stayed for a while and then returned to her own residence at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Her boyfriend returned home at approximately 8:30 p.m. and observed the front gate at the residence to be locked and Marian’s truck in the driveway. The truck was unlocked. He entered the residence after unlocking the door knob. He noticed the deadbolt had not been secured. Marian’s keys were on a table just inside the home. From May 2012:

http://www.waxahachietx.com/news/wa...cle_452fd9f4-a084-11e1-929c-001a4bcf887a.html

An Ellis County jury took less than four hours Thursday afternoon to find Debra Ruth Henderson, 53, guilty of murder in the Dec. 1, 2010, death of her friend Marian Parsons...

Parsons’ decomposed remains weren’t recovered until Henderson’s husband spotted a skull on their rural property March 19, 2011. He contacted the sheriff’s office, which subsequently located Parsons’ body nearby in a ditch, hidden in a depression under a flat piece of metal upon which other debris was piled...

“Debra Henderson was desperate for money. She likes to spend; she likes to gamble. You have motive; you have lots of motive,” Maxfield told jurors... After being confronted with store video, Henderson had admitted to investigators her use of Parsons’ credit cards after her friend went missing. She told investigators she took them after she and Parsons went to breakfast the morning Parsons was last seen.

Sentenced to life in prison:
